-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The soft glow of my phone lit up the dark room as I lay sprawled across my bed, scrolling through the latest chapter of Reality Quest. My hair kept falling into my eyes as I lay there, legs swinging lazily in the air. The blanket was half on the bed, half on the floor—not that I cared enough to fix it.

I was completely engrossed. It was one of those rare chapters where Choi Sunjae actually showed up.

He had just wrecked every enemy like the absolute GOAT he is. His fighting style was hands down my favorite out of every character I've read in any manhwa. It just looked so damn cool. With a flick of my thumb, I reached the final panel—until those dreaded words popped up:

"To be continued."

"Fuck. I don't have anything left to read now."

Letting out a frustrated sigh, I tossed my phone under my pillow—just in case my parents walked in. The clock read 3:23 a.m.

I groaned. I had to wake up at 5:30 for school. Not only that, but exams were coming up in a week... and I hadn't studied at all. I kept deluding myself that it was fine, but deep down, I knew—I was cooked.

I slid one hand under my head and started fantasizing to distract myself.

"I've already read all the good manhwas. Now I'm stuck waiting week by week… Lookism, Reality Quest, Manager Kim, Nebula's Civilization, and so on."

The thought annoyed me.

"It'd be so damn cool to transmigrate into one of these manhwas—like Lookism or Reality Quest. Interacting with characters I've read about, especially my GOATs—Gun and Choi Sunjae?"

I chuckled at the thought.

Then, slowly, I drifted off to sleep.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up with a sharp pain in my chest and cold sweat on my skin.

I wasn't in my room.

I was standing in an empty, blindingly white space. It was quiet—too quiet.

"I've never seen this much white in my life…"

I looked around at the nothingness, taking it all in.

"Did I… die? I didn't feel anything. So all those people were lying when they said they saw a bright light or heard voices right before death."

I added, "Also, I'm supposed to go to heaven… so where the hell am I?"

"You're not going to heaven," a voice echoed in my head.

I spun around, heart racing, trying to locate the source.

"You died," the voice continued. "A stroke. Caused by your lifestyle—sleeping only one or two hours a night for the past seven months due to your manhwa addiction."

My mouth hung open as the words sank in.

"…What?"

I paused, thinking it over for five seconds.

"…Actually, yeah. That sounds about right."

I crossed my arms and nodded thoughtfully.

"That is very probable. Yes, it is."

There was a brief silence, as if the voice itself was caught off guard.

"…You're not entirely useless after all, I guess. Seeing as you're calm, I'll proceed and leave quickly."

I shrugged.

"My life wasn't exactly eventful. I didn't feel connected to anyone. And My foster parents only adopted me a month ago, so… not much attachment there."

Another long pause filled the room, like the voice was weighing its next words.

"I see," it finally said. "So, you have no lingering attachments to that world."

"Not really. Anyway enough about me, who are you, and why am I here?"

After a moment, the voice replied,

"I am a R.O.B.—a Random Omnipotent Being. I'm the one presenting you with your reward."

I frowned.

"Wait… didn't you just say I wasn't going to heaven?"

"You're not. But you did win a reward."

The voice explained dryly, "A few of us R.O.B.s spun a roulette on a whim, and your name came up. The prize? Reincarnation into your favorite media. And since your two favorites are Lookism and Reality Quest, you get to pick."

I blinked.

"Wait—you're saying I get to choose which world to reincarnate into because of some cosmic roulette you guys spun?"

"Precisely," the voice said, sounding slightly amused. "So now that you've been granted this opportunity… choose wisely."

I stared into the empty void, processing the absurdity of it all. Slowly, a grin crept onto my face.

"You're serious?"

"Entirely. Do you accept?"

"Fuck yeah," I replied, smiling wide.

The voice chuckled, now tinged with amusement.

"Good."

Suddenly, a bright light blinded me, and two pills materialized before me—a red one and a blue one.

"…How cliché," I muttered.

"The red pill," the voice began, "transports you into Reality Quest in a random body. You'll receive the same system that Han Do-Wan has, but better. No administrator interference, more freedom—you can grow however you want."

"And the blue one?" I asked, eyeing it.

"The blue pill sends you into Lookism, but you get to choose any Reality Quest character's body and power. You'll retain their strength, though you'll need to train and adapt. Plus, you'll gain a system: the more you act like that character, the more power you draw from both Lookism and Reality Quest."

I leaned in, staring hard at the blue pill. Then I straightened up.

"That's a no-brainer. Most people would pick the blue pill. It's clearly stronger than the red."

The voice responded, "Living and getting stronger is easier in Reality Quest. People are stronger on average in Lookism, and the world is far more dangerous. That's the trade-off."

"Fair enough. Then I pick the blue pill."

The void fell silent.

"Very well," the ROB said with a chuckle. "Good luck in the Lookism verse. I hope you entertain—"

"WAIT!" I interrupted. "One important thing… is One Piece in Lookism?"

The ROB sighed.

"…Yes, yes. I'll make it that it's so. Now, where was I—good luck, and I hope you keep us entertained."

"…Wait. 'Us'? What do you mean by tha—"

Suddenly, weightlessness overtook me. A bright light engulfed my vision, and just before everything faded to black, I saw a childlike figure smiling down at me.

Then—nothing.
