Knox's POV
As I opened my eyes a shooting pain shot through my head causing me to scream out in pain. Slowly sitting up still in pain i stared in disbelief at the semi transparent screen infront of me, reading the words I was in disbelief. This can't be real I have to be dreaming. I tried everything but I couldn't wake up this wasn't a dream. As the pain finally started to settle down I took a deeper look at the strange screen infront of me. As I did more information began to show up.
[Every human between the ages of 16 and 40 from your planet known as Earth have been selected to compete in this competition as something known as a lord.]
[As a lord you will gain the chance to awaken a talent and build your own kingdom to conquer the universe]
[Awakening will begin in. 10, 9, 8, 7...]
Reading the following messages i was still in disbelief but I knew one thing this was real and I had to be ready.
Watching the countdown I prepared for this so called awakening, I didn't know what to expect but I was ready for whatever was about to happen.

How anticlimactic was all I could think as I stared at the screen in front of me, I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this. I thought there would be pain or something but no, nothing changed. Examining myself I found that nothing had changed at all I still had the slight fat around my stomach and the scars from my acne as a teenager nothing had change. Just as I was calming down the notifications continued.

Suddenly the ground began to shake as pillars shot up from the ground forming a small one room wooden hut around me with nothing but a book on an alter in the middle of the room. Walking up to the book I reached out and touched the blank pages, as I did a transparent screen materialized in front of me.

Looking at the information in front of me I could only think of how much this looked like all the games I had played when I was a kid. Other then that I just stared blankly at the screen front of me before moving onto the functions mentioned earlier. To do this I tried what every sane not mentally ill person would do and called out their name starting with the most interesting one my profile.

Calling out the name almost instantly another screen appeared before me.

Reading my so called stats i couldn't help but curse when I looked at the embarrassment that is my intelligence stat.
"I'm not that dumb am I"
Sure I never got higher then a C in school but really a 2.
Getting over my intelligence stat I decided to take a closer look at my talent which held the ranking of every novel MC SSS.

By devouring the corpses of monsters and other being you can gain stats and in very rare cases skills and talents.]
Looking at the simple description I couldn't help but let out a laugh, I really had it, the ability of almost every Novel MC out there. This could only mean one thing. I'm destined to rule this world and eventually the world.
Filled with excitement I broke down laughing it was finally happening i always knew I was special, but no apparently I was just a narcissist and psychopath but this proved then wrong this proved I was the main character of this world and everyone else are just ants for me to control. If only my mother could see me now what would she be saying, guess I'll never know after all she's dead.
Finally calming down I decided to check out the lord chat function.
