Chapter 76 - A Prison of Memory and Fear

"HELP! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!" My screams tore through the darkness, bouncing off invisible walls before dying in the oppressive blackness.

I knew it was useless. The basement was soundproof—designed that way intentionally. No one would hear me. No one would come.

My throat burned raw as panic clawed up from my chest. The absolute darkness pressed against my skin like a physical weight, making each breath a struggle. I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. Couldn't see anything.

Five hours. It had been five hours since Julian locked me down here. Or maybe ten. Time lost all meaning in this hellhole.

"Stay calm, Aurelia," I whispered to myself, my voice trembling. "You've survived this before."
