The King led me across the throne room toward a large table positioned against the far wall. My legs felt unsteady, my body still adjusting to the sudden return of my powers after days of suppression. Each step sent pins and needles shooting through my limbs, but I refused to show any weakness.
"Come closer, Princess," he commanded, gesturing to the table.
I approached cautiously, my eyes widening as I recognized what lay spread across its surface—a massive map of the realms, ancient and incredibly detailed. It showed territories I'd never heard of, borders that no longer existed, and strange markings in a language I couldn't decipher.
"Do you recognize any of this?" he asked, watching my reaction closely.
I shook my head. "Should I?"
His lips curved into that infuriating smirk. "Perhaps not consciously. But your blood will remember."
