Chapter 1: Rebirth of the Demon King

Two thousand years ago, the world was torn apart by an endless battle between the Demon King Ard and the brave Hero Astro. Their fight shook the heavens and earth, continuing for centuries.

Inside his throne room, Ard sat alone, staring into the dark void ahead of him. His sharp red eyes glowed, filled with boredom.

> "This world no longer interests me," he muttered. "There's nothing left worth my time."

Suddenly, a voice echoed through the hall.

> "Master, the Hero is approaching."

One of Ard's most loyal followers stood before him — a graceful woman with glowing eyes. Behind her stood eleven more, each with power beyond human understanding.

One stepped forward.

> "Allow me to deal with the Hero in your place, my lord."

But Ard simply raised his hand.

> "No. I'll face him myself."

He rose from his throne. This battle… would be his last.

Outside, the Hero waited, sword in hand, blazing with holy energy.

> "Demon King!" Astro shouted. "Your reign ends now!"

Ard smiled.

> "Very well. Let's finish this."

Astro raised his blade to the sky.

> "Heavenly Light — grant me your strength!"

He charged, and in the blink of an eye, their powers collided. A massive explosion ripped across the land, blinding light and dark magic mixing into chaos.

Darkness.

Then… a breath.

Ard floated in a void between worlds.

> "It worked… I used my final spell. Rebirth."

A mysterious voice echoed in his mind.

> "You've finally chosen to be reborn."

> "Yes," Ard replied. "Give me a new life — peaceful, quiet. Somewhere I won't be noticed. I want to start over."

> "Then I have just the person. A boy named Kurojin. Sixteen years old. Lost his father. His mother disappeared. He lives with his sister and younger brother. He's always alone, forgotten."

Ard smiled softly.

> "He's perfect. I choose him."

---

"Wake up… Hey! Wake up already!"

Kurojin gasped and sat up in bed, breathing heavily. His heart pounded. He looked around — two beds, plain walls, a girl with long purple hair standing over him in a school uniform.

> "Who are you…? And what are you wearing?"

The girl raised an eyebrow.

> "Seriously? I'm your sister. Did you hit your head or something?"

Kurojin blinked.

> Right… I'm not Ard anymore. I'm Kurojin. This is my new life.

His sister sighed and walked out.

> "Hurry up and get dressed. You're going to be late for school."

He walked to the window and stared out. Skyscrapers, streets full of people, flying screens.

> "This world is… strange."

He dressed in the school uniform, still confused. In the kitchen, his aunt handed him breakfast.

> "Morning, Kurojin. Eat up."

He nodded and ate quietly.

Soon, his sister waved as she left for school.

> "Bye! Don't be late again!"

Kurojin stood at the door.

> "I don't even know where school is…"

He closed his eyes.

> Maybe I should let the real Kurojin take over for now…

When he opened them again, he was already walking, hands in his pockets.

> I hate this feeling, he thought. I don't know how to connect with anyone. What's the point in trying, if people always leave?

He walked through the school gates, sat in the back of the classroom, and kept to himself. During lunch, he sat alone and ate quietly.

> "Wow…" Ard's voice echoed in his mind. "This kid really knows how to avoid attention."

After class, Kurojin went to the school store. He stood in line, quiet and distant.

> "Hey."

Kurojin flinched.

> "Who said that?"

The cashier blinked.

> "Um… no one?"

> "Sorry, I was just… thinking."

> "It's me," said Ard's voice. "The Demon King. I'm still here, inside you."

Kurojin sighed.

> Why me?

He held his phone up to pretend he was on a call.

> "Why me?"

> "Because you're exactly what I need," Ard replied. "Invisible. Average. You'll help me stay hidden while I understand this world."

Just then, a girl with glasses walked up to him.

> "Hey… are you the Demon King?"

Kurojin blinked.

> "What? Me? No—uh, you mean this guy?" He pointed to the air.

Ard laughed.

> "Only you can see me, idiot. Now you look crazy."

Kurojin's face turned red.

> "Forget it. I was joking—"

> "If you really are the Demon King… then I've come to stop you."

Before he could react, she moved with incredible speed and punched him hard in the stomach. He flew back into the wall, gasping in pain.

> "Ugh… What the heck was that?!"

> "Relax," Ard said. "You're not human anymore. You're immortal."

> "That's supposed to make me feel better?!"

The girl charged again, this time with a blade made of fire.

> "Let's end this!"

Suddenly — BOOM!

A fireball exploded between them, filling the hall with smoke.

When it cleared… Kurojin was gone.

The girl looked around, eyes sharp.

> "Where did he go?"
