Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 The Uzumaki Clan has their own ideas

Staying in the barrier with Danzo made Night Light feel extremely uncomfortable.

As one of Konoha Village's antagonists, being near him meant danger.

The entire Anbu's style bore Danzo's distinct personal characteristics.

Ruthless, disregard for the casualties of his subordinates, and an extreme emphasis on loyalty and the Fire Will.

Teams and squads constantly left the barrier, presumably to execute unknown missions.

Night Light was lucky; after waiting a few days, the Black Gorilla Squad was also dispatched.

At a critical moment for monitoring Uzushiogakure, the Black Gorilla Squad arrived at the port at the mouth of the Naka River.

Finally, he didn't have to stay with Danzo.

When assigning the mission, Captain Black Gorilla said that for the next few days, all ships arriving from the Wave Country and the Land of Water were to be closely monitored, especially those carrying Konoha Ninja.

The squad members dispersed and hid among the piles of cargo on the dock, carefully observing the Konoha Ninja.

A Konoha squad disembarked, their faces showing the relief and joy of returning to the Land of Fire.

Executing missions in other countries carried a much higher risk than in the Land of Fire, and returning to the Land of Fire felt like coming home.

Such a Konoha squad was perfectly normal and not among the Black Gorilla Squad's targets for observation.

After three days of staking out, they finally saw a special Konoha squad disembark.

Two Konoha Ninja, their faces full of panic, hastily jumped onto the gangplank.

In their haste, they stumbled, knocking over several porters, and ran towards Konoha.

Captain Black Gorilla moved, and Night Light and the others quickly followed.

In the woods outside the port, two Konoha Ninja ran swiftly along the Naka River.

A Konoha Ninja stood in their path ahead, blocking them.

Night Light had removed his mask early, put on a Konoha forehead protector, and disguised himself as an ordinary Konoha Ninja. His shoulder was wrapped in bandages, faintly stained with blood, and he called out:

"Hello! I'm also a Konoha Ninja! Can you help me change my dressing? My shoulder and arm are injured, and I can't manage it myself."

An older Konoha Ninja said:

"Sorry! This time we have important intelligence to send back to the Village!

We discovered several ships carrying a large number of Cloud Ninja and Kirigakure at sea! They are heading towards Vortex Country!

Uzushiogakure is our ally, they might...

Ah!"

Several Ninja suddenly burst out of the Naka River, their Ninja blades gleaming with cold light, shaking off strings of water droplets, and cutting down the two Konoha Ninja.

Night Light secretly clicked his tongue; as expected of the Anbu, who wield Konoha's dark side, they would even kill their own people for clandestine objectives.

The large-scale mobilization of Kirigakure and Cloud Ninja could not be completely silent; some Ninja were bound to see it by chance.

The Anbu would not allow this news to reach the Village, nor would they detain those Ninja, lest something be investigated later.

After consecutively clearing out three waves of Konoha Ninja who might have transmitted intelligence, Captain Black Gorilla finally looked satisfied and said, "Go! Back to Vortex Country! To find Lord Danzo!"

Night Light estimated the distance from Konoha to Vortex Country. Based on the location of the Kirigakure and Cloud Ninja fleets, even if Konoha received the intelligence today, it would be too late to dispatch support.

By the time the Senju Clan's reinforcements reached Uzushiogakure, Uzushiogakure would have long been destroyed.

By the time the Black Gorilla Squad arrived at Uzushiogakure, it was already late at night.

From the direction of Uzushiogakure, flames soared into the sky.

Night Light was about to continue rushing forward when he suddenly stopped.

Normally, according to the alliance between Konoha Village and Uzushiogakure, both sides had a mutual defense obligation.

Regardless of which Ninja Village encountered danger, the other Ninja Village had an obligation to assist.

However, the situation could not be deduced by common sense now.

"Where are you going! Stop!"

An Anbu Ninja, acting on habitual thinking, accelerated towards Uzushiogakure, but was called back by Captain Black Gorilla.

Captain Black Gorilla led the squad to turn and entered the mountain top barrier where they had previously been lurking.

Inside the barrier, there were still many Anbu Ninja crowded together.

On the mountaintop, Danzo still sat unhurriedly on a rock, coldly gazing in the direction of Uzushiogakure.

From this mountaintop, the full view of Uzushiogakure was unobstructed.

Looking from afar, half of Uzushiogakure was shrouded in mist, while the other half flickered with dense lightning like a swarm of fireflies.

Fires were everywhere in the Village, and people were orderly setting the Village ablaze from outside in.

What the Konoha Ninja who were stopped and killed saw was true: a large number of Cloud Ninja and Kirigakure had attacked Uzushiogakure.

Night Light pondered the situation to himself.

Konoha Village was currently facing its greatest crisis since the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi took office: the change of the Nine-Tailed Jinchuriki.

This was during the Second Ninja World War, and the wars in the Land of Hot Water, the Land of Rivers, and the Land of Rain were not as important as the change of the Nine-Tailed Jinchuriki.

Losing a local war, for Konoha, at most meant losing a small country's mission share, and there would be plenty of opportunities to regain it later.

If something happened to the Nine-Tailed Jinchuriki, the Village itself could be razed to the ground.

In the original story, when the Nine-Tailed went berserk, Konoha Village suffered countless casualties, and the Fourth Hokage and countless villagers died.

That disaster was also the beginning of the original plot.

Uzumaki Mito was too old, nearing the end of her life, with declining bodily functions, dwindling Chakra reserves, and an unstable seal.

To be safe, Konoha planned to select another genius Uzumaki Clan member, like Uzumaki Mito, to be the Nine-Tailed Jinchuriki.

However, the Uzumaki Clan had their own ideas.

During the two Ninja World Wars, Konoha grew weaker with each battle, suffering heavy losses, and was no longer like the era when the First Hokage was in power, dominating the Ninja World alone.

Continuing to entrust the Village's safety to Konoha Village's alliance was becoming increasingly dangerous.

For the safety and continuation of the Uzumaki Clan, the Uzumaki Clan planned to use their powerful sealing jutsu to seal a Tailed Beast.

This way, the Uzumaki Clan would have a sustained deterrent against the Five Great Ninja Villages.

Therefore, Uzushiogakure rejected Danzo's demand and did not send the Whirlpool Princess to Konoha Village.

The rift in their alliance began then.

Uzushiogakure dispatched a sealing squad, taking Uzumaki Kushina to seal the wild Three-Tails.

It was true that the Three-Tails had no Jinchuriki, but the Three-Tails had always belonged to Hidden Mist Village, it just temporarily had no Jinchuriki.

It was all because of the idealistic First Hokage, who distributed the Tailed Beasts to the various Ninja Villages but did not give one to Uzushiogakure.

Hidden Mist Village, knowing that Uzushiogakure intended to seal the Three-Tails, promptly dispatched several members of the Hozuki Clan, thwarting Uzushiogakure's actions.

Hidden Mist Village was not to be trifled with; not only did they prevent Uzushiogakure's actions, but they also retaliated furiously against Uzushiogakure.

Cloud Ninja also intervened.

The Third Raikage was very strong; on the Land of Hot Water battlefield, Konoha was at a disadvantage, otherwise, there wouldn't be such a large number of Cloud Ninja here.

The number of Kirigakure and Cloud Ninja sent to besiege the Uzumaki Clan was too great; the two Ninja Villages had prepared as if for a major war with Konoha.

If the two Ninja Villages won, they could obtain the sealing jutsu they desperately needed from Uzushiogakure to control Tailed Beasts.

The Nine-Tailed was one of Konoha's foundations, and the Tailed Beasts of the two Ninja Villages were also their foundations.

What a pity, Konoha would not send any support at all.

All Konoha wanted was Uzumaki Kushina.

Konoha would absolutely not allow the strongest Uzumaki genius princess to become the Three-Tails Jinchuriki.

Uzumaki Kushina was Konoha Village's chosen next Nine-Tailed Jinchuriki; this matter could not go wrong.

For the Nine-Tailed, Konoha was willing to pay any price.

There was no Senju Clan among Konoha's high-ranking officials anymore, so no one valued any so-called alliance, and no one cared about the Uzumaki Clan.

Night Light looked at Uzushiogakure through binoculars, witnessing many scenes of disaster.
