Hiruzen smoked for a while and finally made up his mind, he went back in his office and began drafting a letter. It was precise and short, to the point. He rolled the paper and sealed it with a ribbon alongside a special stamp indicating it was from the Hokage. He then got up and began preparing some handseals.
Hiruzen's technique Ninpo: Summoning jutsu
With a burst, the king of monkeys, Enma appeared and alongside him was another monkey, black in colour with a grey robe on and a sign of the Uchiha clan on its sides the monkey was smoking two cigarettes at once and turned away from Hiruzen as if deliberately avoiding him.
Hiruzen: "Enma, it has been a while. I need you retrieve a message from one of my students"
Enma: "Is it Kageyama"
Hiruzen: "Correct"
Enma: "I don't think he would ever work for you again. From his attitude no amount of letters is gonna change that."
Hiruzen: "No, its something else. I am afraid my teammate has crossed his line this time however, I need to guarantee his safety."
Enma: "Fine I will personally visit him"
With that both of them vanished in a smoke.
(Pov somewhere in Land of Snow)
In a small house, Haku was cooking meat alongside some omelettes in a dimly lit kitchen and Kageyama was meditating on a couch in complete dark. When suddenly a puff of smoke appeared and Enma alongside a monkey named Goro appeared. Kageyama immediately activated his Sharingan in the darkness his form appeared menancing. Immediately Goro went forward and kneeled to him.
Goro: "Kageyama sama it has been a while. Your teacher has tasked me to pass a message to you."
Kageyama: "It has been a while Lord Enma and Goro."
Enma: "Hiruzen wants to know if you want revenge from the leaf after their actions."
Goro: "The letter recites
Kageyama this is your teacher. I am sorry for the loss you suffered. Is vengeance against the leaf your next step. I hope not."
Kageyama: "I will abide by my words, I left that life behind and my ties with the village and my clan was severed that very day. Inform him that I am not taking any actions."
Enma: "… Your words will be delivered. Farewell then"
Goro: "I will be at your service my lord. Until the next time."
With that the summons disappeared.
(Pov back in Konoha)
Enma informed Hiruzen the Answer. And Hiruzen was relieved after hearing it.

Konoha was slowly copping up its losses over the past decades Konoha went from one of its most powerful to its lowest points. The back to back incidents lowered both the village's strength and esteem. Time heals everything and just as so Konoha was slowly healing. Hiruzen was busy in some paperwork when someone barged in his room, Danzo. He came forward and slamed some papers on his desk.
Danzo: "I think you need to answer some of my questions. There has been numerous incidents which were overlooked by many people including me, flaws in reports and too many coincidental accidents, events which raises questions."
Hiruzen: "I have no clue what you are talking about."
Danzo: "Do not bullshit with me I have facts and reports to show that you are hiding some factions from your advisors. Like how Konoha swiftly defeated the Kirigakure in the 2nd ninja war, a group of chunins were said to kill 8 jonin factions or so the reports say or how Sakumo Hatake has 23 S rank missions in his records within a span of 2 months. Not only these but hundreds of more cases like that around the time from the second great ninja war to a few years before 3rd great ninja war."
Hiruzen: "Well searched however, those chunins were just lucky with planting traps and as for Sakumo, well he was a good shinobi."
Danzo: "Do I look like a fool to you to believe in your words. Were these the actions of your agent. After digging deeply, I found more clues about this mystery officer of yours. You may have hidden facts in the village but I have methods to get my facts right."
"At the ending of the 2nd great ninja war, I was stationed at Sunagakure and your students at Amegakure. The fronts near the Kirigakure and Kumogakure were left to you and the reports suggest how your forces were at a heavy disadvantage, just before our stations at two fronts were about to be compromised, the Kages of both the villages mysteriously died and the answers we got were pinned on Iwagakure."
"At Kumogakure, local residents report an Iwa shinobi and gibberish meanwhile in Kirigakure the actions were pinned on the Anbu commander of Kiri. However, clearly seeing it from my eyes I believe it was the action of your agent. A unique mystical palm technique with lightning nature, advanced genjutsu and stealth skills, he covered his tracks so tediously that no one can prove it who really was behind all of it. I never expected you would have hidden such a gem under your ranks. Who is he?"
Hiruzen smiled and said.
Hiruzen: "So you deduced all of that, just as I would expect of you."
Danzo: "I have the right of knowing who he is not just as your advisor.. but also as your friend and a comrade."
Hiruzen: "The comrade card Danzo. Seriously"
Danzo: "Answer me Dammit. If you don't, I will leak every single clue about him and make him wanted among all the Ninja world. Konoha if nothing would again be in headlines for having such a shinobi. However your officer comes in limelight."
Hiruzen: "You would not dare to do so."
Danzo: "Actually I will, since I wore my headband, I have been loyal to this village sacrificing everything I have for its betterment. Is it not an insult to my faith that my leader and my best friend has hidden such important underhanded missions, events from me. Hiruzen stare at me in my eyes and say if I spoke a wrong word."
Hiruzen: "Hmfh… fine you win. Alright so where should I began with."
