Chapter 6 - The bride,his business 6

The bride,his business 6

The odour in the waste bin was awful, but the fast beating of my heart as I prayed I didn't get caught was even worse.

Slowly, I sank deeper into the waste bin, careful not to make a sound. Then I heard the waste bin open above me, and my heart skipped.

"So disgusting, no one can possibly stay in here!" the guard muttered. He pulled a few pieces of dirt from the waste bin and waited.

I couldn't see what he was doing because I couldn't look up, I couldn't even move. But I could hear his hands moving through the dirt above me since I was buried in the big pile of waste. Then he shut the bin and said, "She's not here. Let's check the toilets and ask other girls in the dorm, one of them must know something!"

"Take this stubborn one to the punishment centre!" my fake husband commanded, and I nearly burst into tears, knowing the innocent girl would be punished because of me. It was all my fault, I dragged her into this, and now she was going to suffer alone.

I heard their fading footsteps and voices. I waited for some minutes before dragging myself up. Then, slowly, I opened the waste bin and looked out, took a deep, fresh breath, and finally burst into silent tears. I felt sorry for myself and for all the girls locked in this place. All the girls that had been deceived under the guise of marriage.

What if I didn't make it out of here? What if they came back to search this bin again?

And like I feared, they did come back. I heard their voices and footsteps as they approached yet again, and I quickly took one last fresh breath and sank back into the waste bin.

I used the dirt to cover my head yet again. But this time, they didn't open the waste bin. They started hitting the waste bin hard, the sound of metal against metal rang in my head and felt like a wave hitting my body.

"If she's there, she will get uncomfortable at some point and make a noise."

They hit and hit the metal waste bin until it felt like the bones in my body were breaking apart, but I wasn't going to make a noise and give myself away. I kept quiet and endured.

I shut my eyes tightly and reminded myself that if I survived this, I would never marry, but I would spend the rest of my life rescuing other girls like me. I would forever be a good girl. I would never look at any man again... I kept making promises to myself, taking future decisions, and praying to survive this.

For over fifteen minutes, they kept hitting the waste bin, and I endured until they were gone. Luckily, after that, they never returned.

The next morning, I knew when they started moving the waste bin and pulled it into a truck that drove out of the house. I couldn't see anything until they dropped the waste bin heavily on the ground and it hit me hard. Then the waste was disposed of, and I jumped out immediately.

We were already outside, but it was an open place with no houses around. It looked like a bush. Once they saw me, they shouted, "That's the girl the boss has been looking for! Catch her!"

Without thinking twice, I started to run, and they followed after me.
