Chapter 1 - ETERNAL SLEEP SOUNDS SO NICE NOW.

The primordial demon stood atop the zenith of the tall dark building beneath him. It stood at a far height easily towering over every outer building in the dreary world that was the kingdom of Navalia, the origin of every demon. the dark clouds hanging in the sky swirled over the buildings filled with dew and the sound of carriages and people scrambling across the dark brick road that connected all the buildings and circled the particularly tall building in a round about.

A heavy sigh filled with much regret and loathing escaped the being's lips as he found himself recalling the past- days when he was younger and knew no better what result his actions would yield. To be honest, he could admit that even if the younger him knew the future that awaited him, he would still go ahead to fight. The thrill of battle and near death very enjoyable to him.

"Now I must suffer and watch the brats of a race play games with each other completely abandoned and forgotten" he muttered under his breath with a wry chuckle and if he was being very transparent, he would rather they didn't remember old him. The annoying demons would definitely see it seeable to acquire his power and although there was no method to go about taking his power or killing him for that matter, he did not have the confidence t say they would not discover one.

The primordial's thoughts drifted to a story he had been told in his childhood as his dark brooding eyes watched a particularly expensive looking carriage drive up to the front of the tower he stood atop. Who it was that told him the story, he could not remember but the story was so striking that he had never once forgotten it.

Once, a primordial like himself had fallen in love with an ascent. How in the bloody skies they met was still unknown but their love was apparently destined as even the, now long dead, gods blessed their union. The kingdoms of Navalia and Celeste, on the other hand, had a very different reaction to the news.

While the ascents had taken their kin's romance as treachery and had simply banished them, the demons had seen it as an opportunity to use the primordial's powers for themselves taking his labour in exchange for a peaceful life in the kingdom. The navals were however demons known to never be satisfied and, having even more leverage over the primordial with a child on the way, desired to covet the ascent's powers as well.

The destined couple could not take it and rebelled but was eventually diven to a corner as the primordial was weak from overwork and the ascent's powers were greatly subdued after being banished. With great sorrow, the primordial held the ascent close weeping greatly as they breathed their last and with a loud cry let out a burst of dark mana that destroyed half of the kingdom before falling into a deep eternal sleep.

At that time, the young primordial did not understand why eternal sleep was the one out of many options for a course o action that the old primordial chose. He somewhat understood now.

That exasperation and sudden realization that the world was moving faster than you, that the greed of others seemed to only grow with the passage of time, that one had no place in the world again- He was not a sentimental person but he could feel all of it so deeply he started to consider gouging out one of his six hearts.

"Eternal sleep sounds so nice" he muttered still staring at the emblem engraved onto the purple carriage in front o the tower. A silent pause ensued before his eyes widened in realization.

'Eternal sleep! Why didn't i do it long ago!'

And with that, the great primordial who once lead the navals to victory in war, disappeared off the face of the world going into an eternal sleep.

....Except, his sleep turned out to be not so eternal.
