Daphne and I had been worried about Eva. The longer she was in the hospital, the more anxious and almost depressed she seemed to become.
I couldn’t blame her necessarily. I remembered my time in the Breles hospital. While all the healers and nurses there were kind and competent, it still was far from my favorite place to be.
Eva’s condition, while thankfully stable now, didn’t seem to be getting much better. The healers warned us that it was only a matter of time before she started to get worse again. Then, she would need to undergo more intensive treatment to get her back to feeling even remotely healthy.
Then, until a real cure was found, that painful cycle would continue.
Lately, Eva’s condition had been stable enough that she could leave the hospital for small periods of time. I was so grateful for Jasper when I heard that he was going to take her and the boys out to explore the city.
