Chapter 63 - The book of truth

Freen's POV: A Future Revealed and a Journey Begins

We stepped into a secluded alcove, away from prying eyes.

"What's going on, Freen?" Mr. Cutie asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I saw Tee selling the D&G dress to Irin in my dream," I confessed. "And now Tee's missing."

Mr. Cutie's eyes widened. "That's impossible. How did you...?"

"I don't know," I interrupted. "But I think it's connected to Mr. On's murder and Blew's attack."

"What are you even saying?" Mr. Cutie still denied it, but I could feel and see in his eyes that he knew what I was talking about.

"Please don't deny it. I need to know the truth. I saw you there, Mr. Lee." That's when I got his attention.

"Since when did this dream begin?" Mr. Cutie asked.

"Answer me first, and tell me I'm not going crazy in thinking this is all connected. What kind of curse did you put on us?" I said desperately, thinking my friends and I were in serious danger.

"It's not a curse; I'll tell you everything if you just calm down," Mr. Cutie reassured me. "But we need to be discreet in this matter." I nodded, feeling a sense of urgency and determination to uncover the truth behind the mysterious events unfolding around us.

"So, you're saying I was right?" I asked, feeling a mix of relief and anxiety at the thought of being involved in something beyond my understanding.

"Yes, you were right," Mr. Cutie confirmed.

"Now tell me, when did you start dreaming about all this?" I hesitated before answering, unsure of how much to reveal. "It started when we began this noble of yours as our new project film," I finally admitted, feeling a shiver run down my spine as I recalled the vivid dreams that had plagued me since then.

"I was seeing me and Becky in a different timeline; it was ancient times. I saw Becky in my dream, but she has a different color of her, and everything that happened in your noble happens to me in my dreams too, but it gets scarier. I'm starting to experience it like it's me in that place and time." I explained, and he just nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "It's like we're connected in a way we can't explain," he replied. His eyes told me he knew and understood what I meant.

"Are you saying...?"

"Yes, you are right. I was there too. But it happened when I was still in senior high." My eyes widened at his revelation.

"How did you—?"

"Manage to come back?" He paused, a haunted look in his eyes. "I don't know," he whispered. "But I think we need to figure it out together before it's too late."

"What do you mean, 'before it's too late'?" His gaze shifted to the window, a sense of urgency in his expression. "I can feel it coming," he said softly. "And I think it's bigger than both of us."

"I will be honest with you, Freen. I am not from this timeline either."

"What do you mean?" I asked, so confused.

"I am from a faraway future." His revelations were making me feel sicker.

"How? I don't understand why you are here then."

"I am here to prevent a catastrophic event that could alter the course of history," Mr. Cutie explained, his eyes filled with determination. "We need to work together to ensure that the future remains intact." My mind was reeling with the implications of his words, realizing the gravity of the situation we were facing.

"But how are you doing this? How is this possible?" I needed more answers, feeling a mix of fear and curiosity.

"It's our genes, Freen. Or should I say, Grandma?" I was dumbfounded by what he just called me.

"What in the world did you just call me?" I asked with a mixed feeling of being insulted and shocked.

"I am your grandson in the future, Mama Freen. You, and Mommy Becky's grandson." These words hit me like a ton of bricks, my mind struggling to comprehend the idea of being a grandmother in the future, especially with Becky. "But how is that even possible? Did you mean me and Becky will be..." I couldn't even form a word to say it.

"Haha, Mama Freen, you are really cute. But that's not what you came here for, right? Stop blushing and save it for later."

"I am not blushing," I said, hiding my embarrassment. The thought of being a grandmother and with Becky was overwhelming, but I couldn't deny the intrigue of what my future held.

"I found this diary from your ancient self the day I first experienced astral traveling." He handed me an old book in a leather cover.

"Ancient me? Astral traveling? What are you even saying? I don't understand what you're trying to tell me." I flipped through the pages, feeling a sense of curiosity and confusion washing over me. The words on the pages seemed familiar yet foreign at the same time.

"Astral traveling is the ability to project your consciousness outside of your physical body and explore different realms or dimensions," Mr. Cutie explained. "Your ancient self documented her experiences with it in this diary, and now it's time for you to continue her journey."

I stared at Mr. Cutie, incredulous. "You're telling me I can travel through time and dimensions?"

"Yes," Mr. Cutie answered.

"And what are you saying I have to continue her journey?" I was still not getting what he was saying.

"You have to read this book to understand what I am saying. I can't explain it to you to make you understand; it's only you who will understand what's written in the book." Mr. Cutie's response only added to my confusion, but I knew that if I wanted to uncover the truth about my ancient self, I would have to take the risk and embark on this mysterious journey.

I opened the book again and started reading what was written in it.
