The door handle had been shaking violently several times, until finally, Gu Xici's curse was heard from outside.
Judith seemed terrified, standing to one side incomprehensibly, her hands covering her face, her eyes wide and round.
"Jiang Yi, open the door. Let's talk,"
Gu Xici's voice came from outside, obviously suppressing his anger.
Jiang Yi sat on the bed motionless, instead reaching under her pillow.
Soon after, Gu Xici said again, "Jiang Yi, are you forcing my hand?"
Jiang Yi's face turned pale with nervousness.
Before long, the sound of Sophia's footsteps echoed on the stairs.
Upon hearing the noise, Sophia climbed out of her own bed.
What followed was her and Gu Xici's garbled conversation in French, most of which Jiang Yi could not understand.
But she could still tell Sophia was trying to calm him down.
Just when Jiang Yi thought Sophia's words had reached Gu Xici, suddenly there came a loud noise.
With a "bang," the door was kicked open by Gu Xici.
