Dahlia tiptoed over and smiled down at Anis. "She looks so serene, doesn't she?" she whispered, her voice barely above a murmur.
I gave her a simple nod.
Dahlia reached out to gently brush her fingers over Anis's hair, her expression softening. "She's a fighter, just like the rest of our families. We've all been through so much, but look at how strong she is."
I sighed. "Matsuyukine was the same way. Like her, she also had moments where she would collapse from exhaustion."
Dahlia sighed. "I sure hope she doesn't get our workaholic traits. Hopefully she's more chill like her grandpa Xandy was."
"Your husband was like your younger son, right?"
She nodded. "Yeah, Xandy had a way of finding joy in the simplest things. He taught me to appreciate the little moments, to take a step back and enjoy life rather than rush through it. I just hope Anis inherits that part of him."
