Taishang Laojun is the embodiment of the Saint of Taiqing and holds great animosity toward Jiang Chen. Although his relationship with Taiyi and others is not particularly good, they all share a common goal when it comes to opposing Jiang Chen.
Thus, in order to confront Jiang Chen, they are willing to temporarily set aside their grudges and join forces to suppress him.
Taiyi's confidence stems precisely from this. The Lords of the Thirty-Five Heavens all regard Taishang Laojun as their leader, and Taishang Laojun happens to be on his side.
Under such circumstances, the Jade Emperor's stance becomes inconsequential. After all, he can no longer issue orders throughout the Heaven Court. If he chooses not to hand over the Heaven Court to Jiang Chen, he may at least preserve a semblance of dignity.
But should he command the Heaven Court to be handed over to Jiang Chen, he would truly become the laughingstock of the Three Realms.
