I watched Elijah's face crumble as the final votes rolled in. Each "in favor" was another crack in the foundation he had built his entire identity on.
The great Elijah Rossi, reduced to pleading with his allies over the phone while a room full of men watched him break down.
It was beautiful.
I kept my expression neutral, professional. Just another shareholder doing her civic duty. But inside, I was counting every second of his humiliation, storing it away like precious coins.
"The motion passes," Webb announced. "Isaac Rossi is now interim CEO of Rossi Corporation, effective immediately."
The words hung in the air. Isaac looked pale, like he might be sick. He hadn't expected this to happen so quickly, so decisively. He probably thought there would be more debate, more back and forth. He didn't understand that I had been planning this moment for months.
