IMOGEN'S POV
I pulled out my phone and dialed Talia's number as I walked toward my car.
"How did it go?" she answered on the first ring.
"Elijah is out. Isaac is in. Phase one is complete."
"And Elijah? How did he take it?"
I thought about the look in his eyes when he realized what was happening. The raw fury, the sense of betrayal, the promise of violence to come.
"About as well as expected," I said. "We need to move to the next phase quickly. Before he has time to regroup."
"What's the next phase?"
I unlocked my car and slid into the driver's seat. Through the windshield, I could see the Rossi Corporation building rising into the gray Portland sky. Somewhere up there, Isaac was probably already starting the process of fixing the mess that was Elijah's empire.
And somewhere else, Elijah was planning his revenge.
