"I have a better idea, love," Kiyomi teased, and Sakura was not sure what to expect.
"Huh?" Sakura wondered, her eyes scanning Kiyomi's blank ones curiously. Maybe that was not the best of things, and maybe that was not how shit was supposed to work, but Sakura knew that this was probably going to be the end of the road for her.
She was scared, and at the same time curious.
Maybe because she had long known that this was a con that she was being roped into, and yet even then, she leaned into it because this was the one con that felt wholesome and reminded her of what it felt like to belong.
Of what it meant to be someone's beloved.
Of what it meant to be chosen, even if it was just in passing.
This was her chance to lean in and get what was hers, and if it meant being scared as hell right and still going on, then Sakura didn't mind doing it. After all, it wasn't like life came with manuals, right?
