The full moon hung like a silver medallion above the clearing where both packs had gathered. Aurora stood beside Eli on the ceremonial rock, her hand firmly clasped in his. Four weeks had passed since they'd sealed the portal, four weeks of healing, rebuilding, and saying goodbye.
"Today, we become one," Eli announced, his voice carrying across the silent crowd. The scars on his face from the battle had faded to thin white lines, but the memories remained fresh.
Aurora squeezed his hand and stepped forward. "Two packs, two histories, now joined as one family."
The massive bonfire in the center of the clearing crackled and sent sparks flying toward the stars. Around it stood every surviving member of both packs, faces illuminated by the dancing flames.
