"MOTHERFUCKER," roared Nick Fury, slamming his fist onto the nearest console as the briefing room filled with tense silence. The others turned toward him, startled—but honestly, no one could blame him.

Aiden stood there, looking sheepish but still somewhat proud, arms crossed and hoodie scorched and torn from the earlier rampage. "Hey, sorry. Kinda on me…" he admitted, his voice calm, but the weight behind it undeniable. "I guess he wouldn't have noticed me if I didn't, y'know… take his sword's powers."

Fury's one good eye twitched. "You're telling me you pissed off a god of darkness, went full demon berserker mode, nearly killed three of the most powerful women on the planet, and tore apart my ship… because you borrowed his sword's mojo?"

Aiden shrugged. "In my defense, I also saved a whole universe."

"Not ours," Fury muttered, though his voice lacked bite.

Thor chuckled from where he leaned against a wall, cradling a busted arm and covered in drying blood. "No, but still—a feat worthy of song and legend. You did what needed to be done. Worlds may change, but honor and duty do not. You fought like a true warrior, Boy." He gave Aiden a nod of respect, the kind only Thor could offer.

Aiden smirked faintly. "Thanks… still working on the 'controlling the ancient evil' part."

Tony, seated on the edge of a battered table, sighed and looked up from the schematic glowing on his wrist. "Okay, great pep talk. Love the drama. But we still have to deal with the planet-sized asshole outside."

All eyes turned toward the massive external view screen, where Galactus slept—curled in the vacuum of space, larger than moons, his cosmic armor dim under the passive scans. A ticking time bomb of annihilation.

Valeria stepped forward, tablet in hand, her hair disheveled and her voice firm. "If the readings are correct—and I'm betting my life they are—he'll remain in regenerative hibernation for twenty-four hours. That gives us time."

"Time for what?" Fury asked, not bothering to hide his skepticism.

Valeria's eyes flickered with determination. "To finish what we started. The weapon. The one we designed to pierce his core and sever his link to the World Engine."

Tony gave a half-grin, rubbing his sore shoulder. "The big shiny cannon-of-doom? It might be ready by then… assuming we don't lose another half of the team to round two of 'Aiden Goes Abyssal.'"

"Hey," Aiden said, mock-offended. "I'm back in control now. Promise."

Thor glanced at the twisted corridor where a wall still smoked faintly. "Yes. Let us hope the boy stays in control. The ship… and the rest of us… would not survive another one of his 'episodes.'"

Fury sighed, pacing slowly. "Alright. We recover. We rebuild. Dragon Boy, you stay on mental lockdown. One toe out of line and I'll personally blast you back into the void."

Aiden nodded. "Assuming you can do that? sure, that's Fair enough."

Wanda, still a little pale, stepped into the circle. "What about after? If this works and we stop Galactus… what do we do with what's inside Aiden?"

"I Just explained he's not INSIDE ME...." Sighed Aiden "Look Don't worry about that...I'll handle him myself when it's time for that...Now...Focus on the damn Giant Eater"

....

The cold hum of machines and faint beeping of vitals echoed in the vast medbay, dimly lit to let the injured rest. Aiden stepped in quietly, his eyes scanning the rows of recovery pods and hospital beds. Some of the greatest young heroes—his friends, his teammates—lay bruised and battered.

Because of him.

He swallowed the guilt as he moved slowly between the beds. Noriko had bandages on her arm. Bobby was still unconscious. Kitty had a swollen eye and split lip. He paused near each of them, his expression unreadable, before finally stopping beside Rogue.

She lay on the bed, eyes open, watching the ceiling until she noticed him. She turned her head, a gentle smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "Hey."

Aiden pulled a chair close and sat, elbows on his knees. "You okay?"

Rogue nodded slightly. "Yeah… I am. Don't worry about it." She paused. "I feel like you were harsher on the others than on me."

Aiden gave a short, dry laugh. "I apologized, you know!"

She smiled. "I know. Just giving you trouble."

His smirk faded slightly as he looked at her more closely. "So… what about you? How are you really doing? Sorry about the whole 'save you and then disappear' thing. I was just… I didn't want to stay in that school anymore. Not back then."

"You tell me," Rogue muttered, her voice low. "I kinda wished I could've left with you."

Aiden nodded, voice softer. "Me too."

"Don't say that…" she said quickly, her tone sad now.

"Why not? I still do." He leaned back. "My plan's still on, you know. I want to get us back together. Form our own team… the way it was supposed to be."

Rogue looked at him quietly, then glanced away before asking, "Is it true? You know… the girlfriend thing?"

"Valeria?" Aiden blinked, then nodded. "Yeah. It's true. I'm dating her."

Rogue's gaze dropped. "I see…"

He leaned forward, concerned. "Hey… what's wrong?"

"I don't know. I just thought that maybe… after all we've been through…" She trailed off, then shook her head. "Never mind. Just forget about it."

But Aiden caught her meaning. He exhaled and gently patted her head. "Oh, I see where this is going. Look… Noriko may not be a great role model in this department, but maybe you should take a page from her book."

He smiled faintly, then continued. "I love Valeria. But I'm not exactly a monogamous guy. Don't think I've given up on you, Rogue. You still own a piece of my heart. Just like Valeria does." He paused. "Actually… not just you two. Kitty, Noriko… there's another girl named Gwen. And yeah, even Jubilee—crazy as she is—she's in there too."

Rogue's eyes widened slightly, her lips parting. She was quiet for a long moment before she said softly, "I see… Isn't that unfair?"

Aiden nodded. "I never said it wasn't. I'm me. You're you. I love you. Doesn't mean you have to love me back or accept how I live. If I were you, I wouldn't accept it either."

He looked at her firmly now. "But if you do… I'll love you just as much as everyone else who chooses to stand by me."

Rogue was quiet again. She looked up at the ceiling as her fingers curled against the blanket. "You've changed… You used to be so closed off. Distant. Or at least that's how it felt."

"I didn't mean to be," Aiden admitted. "I always cared. We were younger, though. Things were simpler… and more confusing. But that day—when I saved you and killed Magneto—I made a choice. I decided to live the life I want. Not the one people expect of me. To finally… be me."

Rogue looked at him again. This time, her smile was warmer. "I like this version of you more," she whispered. "In fact… I think I'm even more confident now."

She reached out and took his hand, gently. "I love you, Aiden."

Aiden smiled. Sincere. Gentle. "Me too… Rogue."

He leaned in and gave her a soft kiss on the forehead, his hand brushing her hair back gently.

"I'll let you rest now," he said as he rose. "Take care."

And with that, he turned and quietly walked away—leaving behind a girl with a racing heart and a hopeful smile.
