Chapter 399 - Chapter 399

"Ahhh!!"

Nobita screamed in fear as Doraemon continued his frenzied attack, hurling statues with all his might.

But no matter how much Nobita screamed, Doraemon didn't stop.

In fact, he threw even harder.

Even without looking back, Nobita could feel something flying rapidly toward him from behind.

Panicking, he dashed to the side just in time.

CRASH!

A statue slammed into the wall right beside him, shattering bricks that rained down toward Nobita.

In that moment, Nobita's reflexes reached a whole new level.

Facing this crisis—

He dropped into a sliding dodge, skating under the falling debris, then sprang back up into a run.

It was a seamless move, no wasted effort.

Truly, in life-or-death moments, human potential is immeasurable.

Even someone like Nobita, who usually had terrible athletic skills, was pulling off moves he'd never thought possible.

"Ahhhhhh!!"

Seeing Nobita so nimble only infuriated Doraemon even more.

In his subconscious, he believed Nobita shouldn't be that agile!

"Stop running! Die! Die!!"

Doraemon cursed as he hurled another statue at him.

But by now, there were no more statues on the path.

So, he began ripping off doors and windows, throwing them instead!

"Doraemon! Please calm down! If you keep this up, we'll never get out of here!"

Nobita cried, tears streaming down his face.

He was at his limit—utterly lost, overwhelmed.

How long was he supposed to keep running?

Then, turning a corner—

He came face to face with several Sadakos crawling his way!

"Eeeek!!"

Without hesitation, Nobita fired his Solidification Lamp, freezing them instantly.

But more and more ghosts were emerging from the surrounding walls and rooms, moving toward him.

Nobita swung the lamp wildly, freezing them all one by one.

"This is bad! If this keeps up, every Sadako's gonna come at us!"

Realizing the urgency, he turned back toward Doraemon, about to speak—

Only to see Doraemon pick up one of the frozen Sadakos and hurl it at him!

Nobita ducked just in time.

"Doraemon, how long are you going to keep this up?! Can't you calm down even a little?!"

Even Nobita had his breaking point.

Being chased like this—even by Doraemon—he couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Die!! Die!!"

His shouting only enraged Doraemon further.

He raised a statue single-handedly and launched it with full force!

It grazed Nobita's cheek and smashed clean through a wall!

"W-What the heck?! Since when is Doraemon that strong?!"

Seeing the hole in the wall, Nobita was stunned.

"I'm sorry, Doraemon! I shouldn't have yelled at you!"

He quickly apologized.

"Actually, I've yelled at you so many times... Even when it was my fault, I always blamed you."

Nobita began reflecting.

"I was always taking it out on you, yet you never gave up on me... I was too much. I always promised to change, but I never did. And yet, you always gave me another chance."

"I'm truly sorry, Doraemon!"

He shouted louder and louder, deeply remorseful.

But Doraemon still didn't stop. He kept hurling statues one after another.

Sensing danger behind him, Nobita grabbed the Reflective Cloak from his pocket and threw it up, deflecting the statue to the side.

Then more ghosts and Sadakos appeared up ahead, and Nobita quickly blasted them with the Solidification Lamp!

"Is this because I stole your dorayaki a few days ago?! I'm sorry! When we get back, I'll buy you tons of them!"

Just as he finished shouting, Doraemon hurled two more statues at him.

Thankfully, Nobita had reached the staircase.

He quickly leapt down, dodging the incoming projectiles.

Just then, a Sadako crawled up from the lower floor, her hair writhing.

Nobita instinctively fired the lamp again.

But in doing so, he collided with another statue, tumbling down the stairs.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch!"

Clenching through the pain, he heard heavy footsteps behind him and forced himself to get up and keep running.

"Is this because of that prank with the toy mouse a week ago?! I was just testing a transformation spell and accidentally turned it into a mouse! I didn't mean to scare you!"

While Nobita explained, Doraemon suddenly changed tactics—he threw a statue at the ceiling ahead of Nobita.

CRASH!

The ceiling collapsed, dropping debris in front of him.

Nobita had to skid to a stop.

He immediately sensed danger behind him and spun around.

Doraemon was charging at him, face twisted in rage!

Nobita quickly raised the Reflective Cloak to block.

But Doraemon was holding a shard of glass—and slashed right through the cloak!

Just before impact—

Nobita pulled the wand from his waist.

"Protego Armor!"

A shimmering barrier covered him.

Doraemon tackled him, but Nobita took no damage.

"Wuuuuh!!"

Doraemon's face contorted with hatred as he glared at Nobita.

His pupils oozed with a blood-red sheen, radiating pure killing intent.

He raised the glass shard high, ready to bring it down.

In that moment—his friend was really about to kill him.

But Nobita didn't reach for a gadget. He didn't cast a spell.

He just screamed with everything he had:

"DORAEMON!!!"

It was a name he had shouted countless times.

But never had it made a difference.

There was no reason to think it would matter this time either.

And yet—this time, Doraemon's arm froze mid-air.

"Wuuuuh…"

The rage on Doraemon's face twisted into one of agony.

His right hand trembled, trying to stab down with the glass—

But his left hand suddenly clamped down on it, stopping the motion!

"Wuuuuh… No… I can't hurt Nobita…"

He managed to choke out a few words, voice full of pain.

His expression contorted further.

"Doraemon! You're back!"

Nobita shouted, overwhelmed with hope.

"Wuuuuh!!"

But Doraemon suddenly clutched his head.

Electric sparks surged from his body, smoke pouring from his forehead.

"Doraemon! What's happening to you?!"

Nobita panicked, wanting to rush forward and help.

But Doraemon immediately stepped back.
