Chapter 409 - Chapter 409

"GRAAAHH!!"

The giant Xenomorph, having fully ensnared Tiga, lifted both arms with all its strength.

Tiga was yanked to his knees, unable to resist the force.

"Nngh!!"

Tiga strained, muscles tensing as he fought to break free from the binding tentacles.

Just then, the giant Xenomorph spewed highly corrosive acid directly onto Tiga's body.

"Szzzzz!!"

Smoke billowed from Tiga's form as his armor was seared by the acid.

"Cha!!"

A cry of pain escaped him.

Without pause, the giant Xenomorph charged—while Tiga was still reeling—and leapt forward, delivering a powerful double-kick to his chest.

At the same time, it released the tentacles, launching Tiga straight into a nearby mountain.

With that massive force and Tiga's colossal body, the mountain he struck collapsed violently.

"Cha…"

Tiga clutched his chest, trying to get back on his feet.

But the giant Xenomorph wouldn't give him the chance.

Its horn began to glow red once more—energy building for another devastating beam.

Just as the red beam was about to blast Tiga—

—a figure enlarged rapidly, leaping into view to shield him.

It was Gallantmon!

Thanks to his link with his master—who had transformed into Tiga—Gallantmon's own power had surged, allowing him to grow giant as well.

At the last moment, he raised his shield and blocked the red beam!

"Gokuraku Jodo!"

He followed up instantly, unleashing a beam of light from his shield that blasted the Xenomorph back!

"Master! I almost couldn't find you!"

Gallantmon muttered with a hint of reproach.

He'd searched the mine for Tiga with no luck—only to realize the massive battle happening outside and rushed to the scene.

"Sorry."

Tiga replied briefly, glancing toward Kyoto.

He had already sensed it—countless lives were being lost.

"Master, leave this one to me! I'll finish him off and catch up as soon as I can!"

Gallantmon immediately understood what Tiga intended and volunteered to fight in his place.

"Cha!"

Tiga nodded firmly, grateful. Then he took to the skies, flying at full speed toward Kyoto.

"GRAAHH!!"

The giant Xenomorph roared in panic, trying to give chase.

But Gallantmon blocked its path.

"Your opponent… is me."

He glared at the beast.

"GRRAAGH!!"

Infuriated, the Xenomorph swung its claw at him.

Gallantmon raised his Knight Lance, parried the blow, and thrust his spear directly into its chest.

A surge of light and shockwave erupted from the lance, sending the monster stumbling backward.

"GRRRAAAHH!!"

It let out a scream of agony, furious and wounded.

The beast opened its mouth and spewed acidic blood directly onto Gallantmon.

Smoke hissed from his armor—it appeared he was being corroded—

But—

"Don't get your hopes up!"

In the next instant, Gallantmon charged, completely unfazed, and smashed his lance into the Xenomorph's head!

Then, spinning swiftly, he backhanded it with his shield, slamming it full-force into the creature's skull.

The Xenomorph's head spun 180 degrees from the impact and it crashed hard into the ground.

"Your blood… can't melt through me!"

With that, Gallantmon launched his next assault.

Meanwhile, in Kyoto.

"AAAAHH!!"

"Help us!!"

"Someone save us!!"

"Victory Team, Tiga—where are you?!"

The center of Kyoto was still sealed behind a barrier erected by the giant Xenomorph.

Trapped inside, the civilians could only run and hide, desperate not to be caught.

In mere minutes, the giant Xenomorph and its Queen had devoured countless people.

Those who remained lived in constant dread—knowing they might be next.

"Uurrgh…"

The giant Xenomorph let out a massive belch.

It glanced at the Queen—then nodded.

It walked forward a few steps and stood still.

Then—it crouched.

Its muscular arms flexed and crossed. It hunched down, head tucked beneath its arms, muscles bulging.

No one knew what it was doing.

And then—

It threw its arms wide, arched its back, and opened its mouth—aiming straight up.

"SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT!!"

A fountain of highly corrosive blood erupted from its mouth—shooting into the air like a geyser.

The acidic spray struck the invisible barrier it had created.

Then it splattered in all directions—raining down like a chemical storm.

But it didn't stop there.

The Xenomorph began rotating its head—spraying different sections of the barrier.

The result: an acid rain of countless droplets falling across every corner of the sealed area.

Strangely… the barrier wasn't harmed by the acid at all—it remained completely intact.

Even though it was just spray, each droplet held devastating corrosive power.

The acid not only burned through flesh and bone, but even punched holes through rooftops and walls.

Entire buildings were left looking like honeycombs, riddled with holes.

And those hiding inside… were now exposed.

Terrified faces peeked out, knowing death might be mere seconds away.

But no one knew why the Xenomorph was doing this.

"What is that monster trying to do?"

Shinjo questioned from inside Jet Falcon Two.

"Maybe… maybe it's trying to flush out the hiding humans?"

Hori speculated grimly.

"Look—the other one's doing something now!"

Gen suddenly shouted.

The Xenomorph Queen was anchoring her six spider-like legs firmly into the ground—preparing for something that required stability.

Then her neck began to rise—and swell grotesquely.

As if something was building up inside her.

"This is bad!"

Yasumi's panicked voice came through comms.

He was currently piloting Jet Falcon One, which had been equipped with a liquid nitrogen cannon, en route to Kyoto to rendezvous with Gen's unit.

His onboard computer had just picked up an alert—something was wrong with the Queen.
