On the sea outside London Port, dozens of naval high officials aboard the first-class battleship "Royal Monarch," along with some government dignitaries, watched the bizarre-shaped warship swiftly sailing past with billowing smoke, and immediately broke into applause and cheers.
Sir Hope pointed at that peculiar ship and personally explained to the crowd of prominent figures:
"The 'Comet' is equipped with two 52-horsepower steam engines, utilizing an unprecedented underwater propeller propulsion system, and can reach an astonishing speed of 12 knots when the wind is favorable. Even without wind, it can move at 8 knots.
"Simultaneously, it is also armed with 28 cannons, surpassing the speed and firepower of similar French warships.
"We only need to build over 30 such warships, and the French Fleet will lose its speed advantage in the Mediterranean Sea."
The British officials applauded again and continuously nodded at each other.
