Valery and Rose headed to the rear of the castle, where most of the vampires were gathered. They both stopped at the castle windows to look at the crowd before continuing on their way to the door that led to the rear of the castle.
Before they arrived...
Downstairs, everyone was talking about what was happening. Not everyone witnessed the arrival of the vampires who took their lord to meet a strange vampire they did not know, because not everyone was near the area, so even though they ran there, they did not arrive in time.
Likewise, not everyone was aware of what was happening. After all, they were brought here by the soldiers and nobles who serve Thunder. After all, the vampires who came from outside could not be considered entirely their allies. If at any time they decided to attack them, they had to be prepared, and the best way to do that was to be in an enclosed place with walls, even if they were small.
All this was done to protect the citizens and themselves.
