Further investigation will be..." the announcer's voice trailed as Mila turned down the television volume. She dropped the remote controller and chuckled.
What started as a simple giggle turned into a laugh she could no longer control, with tears on her lashes. She felt really satisfied, especially with the family betraying each other without her even doing too much.
"Ma'am, do you want me to serve your lunch here?" Umberto asked, breaking Mila's bliss with a question.
Mila nodded. "Yes, Umberto, get my meal ready. And wine too. I don't know why, but I'm suddenly in the mood to celebrate."
