Lacie started the car once Mila got in. She had expected her meeting to take longer, but it didn't, and for that, she was glad. She wanted to return home and spend time with her children as much as she could. She really missed them a lot.
"Are you okay?" Lacie asked. Though excited, she still noticed that Mila's countenance had changed.
Mila tapped her phone screen, glancing at the café once more. "I don't know if I'm overthinking it, but I just heard something really suspicious."
"Mm... well, maybe trust your instincts then," Lacie remarked, her eyes on the road. "We might try to deny it, but our intuitions are always right, maybe not perfect, but a little bit of it," she advised.
Mila pressed her lips and nodded. "I'll trust my instinct then," she muttered, flipping her phone in between her fingers.
