Back at Greenside, it's early in the morning and the snow is light. The outside is bright, and it's not too cold as it was the previous day. Inside the brothel Marie, and a few other girls can be seen chatting. "Lately business has been too slow for my own liking." Said one of the prostitutes, "I mean it's not bad that I don't have to sleep with another ugly bastard but still. I am low in cash, and this is the only way I could make quick money."
"Yeah you're absolutely correct, all these men are ugly. None of them are handsome or at least clean. Honestly some of these men stink, and I just can't handle it anymore." Marei said.
"Yeah I know, these men are pigs. I overheard some of them one night say something disgusting." One of the girls said which the others get closer ready to hear what they said. "Well they were discussing about who slept with the most women, and if they should make a competition out of it." The other girls are utterly disgusted by this.
"Listen girls, I'm fed up with this, and I'm not dealing with this anymore." Marie said which makes the other girls gasp. "Yeah I said it, I want to leave this place forever, and never turn back."
"Marie, sweetie how would you do that?" Asked a blond girl who is smoking. "I mean we don't get paid much to start saving. This is basically owned by that gang, and we are witnesses. If one of us leave then they will kill us to keep themselves secret."
"Yeah I know that, but I have been saving up money actually. I have been for many years, I put on the best smile so these bastards would pay more." Marie says but her face seems to be sad. "I bite my tongue and let them do what they wanted, and here I am now. With this money I can leave forever." She then gets close to the blond girl "Hand me a cigarette, I need to forget something.
The blond gives her the cigarette, and she lights it for her. "You know, thinking about it is quite funny." The blond girl said which makes Marie make an angry face. "Not about your situation of course, that's terrible and I wouldn't make fun of that. The thing I find funny is that of Ashly."
"I mean she left not so long ago, and now you're leaving aswell. We all joked about you being her secret friend, but this just fuels the fire Marie. You aren't making it any better for yourself." The blond girl said and the other girls giggle and agree.
"What? Of course not, I'm not doing this because of that bitch." Marie says with an embarrassed face. "I'm being serious right now, you all should be proud that I won't be suffering anymore."
"Oh we are happy for you Marie, its just that this is probably the last time we will see you. We want to make it a memory that we would cherish when we remember you. We had no intent to cause you to feel worse." Said a brunette.
"Listen I have a plan, and your right I'm leaving right now. There is this old town I knew when I was a child. I plan to move there, and live a quiet and simple life." Marie said as she scratched her left check remembering those memories. "Actually, I grew up there so that's why I want to move there. There are some people who I hope still live there."
"With this money I won't have trouble moving in. If I'm lucky my old friend could help me out, only if they still live there of course." Marie then smiles and blushes a bit.
Marie clears her throat. "Well then ladies, its been nice knowing you all. You all really did bring me joy within this ugly place. I would always remember everyone of you girls." She then turns around, and leaves the brothel. As she leaves through the door, Gael is there which surprises her.
"Oh it's you sir, you startled me a bit." Marie looks at Gael who seems to be staring at her. "Oh yeah I want to tell you something now, I am leaving. I know it's out of nowhere, but I'm tired of this place. Don't worry I won't tell anyone out you people as I will get in trouble aswell." She says a bit worried.
Gael just smiles at Marie. "Oh yeah I know that already, don't worry about it." Gael says with gentleness. "Please Marie, I'm not mad at you or anything of that sort. I just overheard a few people that's all."
"I just want to ask you one simple question alright?" Gael asked and Marie nodded slowly. "Great to know that you are cooperating with me, well I want you to tell me about Ashly. I want to know if you knew she disappeared much earlier than we knew. Also tell us where she went as that would be really helpful to us." Gael says with the same smile.
Marie begins to sweat a bit by this. "I'm sorry sir, but I don't know where she went, honest. I didn't know she was gone until a few days ago. I thought she was out for another mission or something."
"Oh, well that's a big lie Marie, not a great look for you. Listen to me alright, unless Ashly returns you won't be going anywhere. Do you understand that?" He asked her with his smile now gone.
"What? But that's stupid sir, you can't just do that. I don't know where she is and if I did I would of told you already. I have been seeing how you all work, and trust me I'm the last person who wants to mess with you." Marie says with frustration and a hint of fear.
"Oh I wasn't asking you to stay here." He then clasps his hands and two men appear. They both put their hands on Marie's shoulder which makes her jump a bit. "You're coming with us Marie, you two don't let her get away."
Marie begins to struggle. "Let go of me, this is messed up. This is harassment I will tell on you, I don't want to be touched by ugly men." Marie yells out.
"That won't help you out Marie, stop it already it's annoying. We are in a place full of my men, remember that alright. I'm the boss so whatever I do won't be stopped." Gael says as he points around to other men who are resting or being vigilant. "They all fear me, and what I'm capable of doing."
Marie stil tries to struggle and get free, but it's useless. These men are stronger than her so she just gives up. "Listen to me Marie, I don't want to hurt you, I'm not lying. I just want to get some answers out you alright? I need your cooperation."
Gael then turns to Marie. "Oh yeah I only want satisfactory answers from you. You're a fine girl, you're a person I could trust for sure." Gael says to her."Well if I don't then, it will turn out ugly for you."
Marie gulps, "Oh don't worry I'll go easy on you after all, we meet years ago. We knew each other for some time, and I don't want to cause you any form of pain." Gael then turns to a building. "Right here, this is where we will talk aright."
Gael then guides her inside the building, Marie sees a few men sitting down in the entrance of the building. They are definitely guarding this palace which doesn't ease her nerves. She sees Gael whisper something in the ear of one of the men and he nods. The man stands up, and guides them towards a small dark room.
"Come on Marie, take a seat, don't be shy." The room is mostly empty except for a table and four seats. "This is an interrogation room or something similar to it. I'll ask you some questions Marie, simple ones."
Marie then takes a seat, and Gael does the same opposite of her. "Alright Marie, this first question is about your relationship with Ashly. I want to know how well you two know each other."
"Oh, Ashly and I aren't friends at all sir, it's nothing worth talking about." Marie said with a low tone, she is scared. "We don't even have a connection at all, it'll be useless to ask more about it."
Gael then sighs. "Alright then. What are some things that Ashly tells you, like secret you both share."
"Like I said before, we aren't friends so she wouldn't tell me anything. She would rather die before telling me any of her secrets." Marie said with honesty.
Gael is a bit irritated by this, "Stop messing with me Marie, this isn't a game you would like to play." He said.
"I'm not trying to mess around, I'm being honest." Marie said as she is beginning to get scared.
"Well, I hope that you're not playing because I don't want to take any type of extreme measures." Gael says as he pulls out a revolver, Marie stares at it and sweats. Gale then slams the gun onto the table.
"I know you're lying to me Marie, I heard that Ashly rents your room every night. Some people told me you two share the same bed." He then lets go of the gun. "Why would Ashly rent you specifically if she hates you. You aren't a cheap girl compared to the others."
Gael then wipes his eyes. "Listen Marie, if you and Ashly are having sex…I don't care about that. I don't care about relationships like that alright, I'm not going to hurt you because of that. I'm just angry that you would lie to me about that, I hate liars."
"Wait no, you got it completely wrong, we aren't sleeping together. It's a misunderstanding, we are just benefiting from each other that's all." Gael raises his hand to make her shut up.
"Alright then, I'll ask you a different question, tell me about this man. Robert right? That was his name if I remember correctly." He asked and Marie nods. "Tell me everything you know about him, anything that could be useful to us."
Gael then begins to scratch the table with his nails. "My nails have grown quite long recently, I haven't had time to take care of myself much. This has been tough for me Marie, just tell me anything." Gael's tone is soft, and he isn't looking at her at all.
