Chapter 54 - interrogation(2)

Marie looks at Gael. "Alright like I said, on that one day, this man was here only to hurt Ashly. I doubt he was motivated by revenge. He was very calm, and he wasn't as hostile as he should of been if he was."

Gael scoffs at what Marie said, "Yeah I know that already, I heard other people say the same exact thing. I just want to hear something new, he was the one talking to you. Is there anything else he said, like maybe he had more than one target?"

Marie stays silent and doesn't answer him, "Well on the bright side, it's great that there is someone trying to kill Ashly. That means I won't have to punish her for running away now, that's one problem down." Gael says with a smile, and a sigh of releif. He then laughs a bit which makes Marie even more uncomfortable than before.

"I know the exact reason why you didn't tell him why Ashly lived here." Gael says with a more lenient tone. "Although you run your mouth about wishing for Ashly death. You're to much of a coward to indirectly cause her death, am I right?" Marie darts her eyes which is enough for him to believe it was true.

"You're a piece of shit Marie, if you're this much of a coward then you shouldn't be spouting your mouth. You have to remember this or else there will be people who will hurt you." Gael says. "If you want something to happen you must be prepared for it to happen. If you're not then just stay silent, simple words to follow."

Gael then leans back on his chair, he puts both of his feet on the table. His feet narrowly miss the revolver, he glares at Marie hoping for her to spill everything. He then looks at the two other men who are standing behind Marie motionless. He likes how he has total control in this one area. It feels refreshing to know he isn't being stressed every second of his day.

"Listen to me, you have been working in this place for years. I can feel the pain you must have had with the men that are around here. I feel sorry for you, did you ever like this?" ?e asked with sincerity.

"Of course I never did, that's why I am trying to leave." Marie answered, "I just want to be gone, and never see this dump ever again. I had no choice when it came to where I lived, and I dreamed of leaving."

"Yeah I know, but I'm thankful for your service." Gael emphasizes on the word service. "Due to that my men were more or less happy , and have been more active. I have to thank the man in charge because I would hate to handle men who are tensed."

"Of course I don't go into brothels myself, I do find them disgusting. I would never step inside one as a costumer ever, I don't hate them but they are rent for me." Gael says.

Marie stays quiet and she looks at the two other men. They are staring ahead of them, and when they notice that Marie looking at them, they stare back at her. Marie then darts her eyes away.

"Oh Marie just ignore them for now, they aren't important. Well not in this interrogation at least, they won't hurt you." Gael says.

"Well if this is an interrogation then they have to play a part. I know how bad things get, and I have to that guess they would hurt me. Some form of torture to get answers out of me." Marie said, she then begins to think about what they might do to her. Would they break her fingers, cut her, burn her, this all makes her feel terrified.

"Hey Marie, don't overthink it, like I said they aren't part of this. It's only between you and me, relax a bit as no one is going to hurt you." Gael said trying to reassure her, he then notices how close they are to Marie. "Alright you two, back away from her, that's too close. You two are only here to make sure she doesn't do anything without my permission."

The two men nod, and back away from Marie which does ease her up a bit. The room is too dark, and it seems like they are disappearing. "Alright Marie, I want you to pick up the revolver for me." Gael says as he points to the gun, he removes his feet form the table.

Marie is hesitant, what if this is a trap and he is using this as an excuse to then do things to her. She looks at Gael who doesn't seem interested in what she is thinking. She stands up shaking a bit as she leans in to grab it. Gael then quickly moves closer and grabs Marie hands.

"Ahhh!" Marie screams and Gael then begins to laugh, he apologizes and sits back down. Marie's heart is beating fast after this scare, Gael urges her to pick it up and she does.

"Marie, do you honestly believe you're not lying to me?" Gael asked her, Gael then raised his left hand and points to the door. "I think I will take this by myself, may you two leave now." Immediately the two men nod, and begin to leav the room. "Don't touch her alright, I will cut your hands if you lay a hand on her hair."

The men are now gone, it's just Gael and Marie in the dark room. Gael then leans closer, and stares directly into her eyes. "Marie, if you are telling the truth then you would have no problem killing me right?"

"Wh-what do you mean by that?" Marie asked surprised. "This is ridiculous, and you know it. This won't prove a single thing." But Gael raises his hand ordering her to quiet down which she does.

"Well I'm sorry Marie, but that's how it goes, you have five minutes to shot me. If you don't kill me then you will die, and I'll make sure they have a great time." He says as he yawns. "You have the gun Marie, for the next five minutes you're in control."

"Go on Marie, just pull the trigger, it's much easier than it seems." Gael says as he makes a gesture of a gun. "If you kill me now there won't be anyone to rule for a while, the world would be much safer." He then puts his hands down, he again touches his hair.

"Like I said earlier, I really like you a lot. This is my way of showing you a chance to live, a chance to prove yourself correct." He then puts his index finger on his forehead. "Right here, it is a simple squeeze and I'm dead."

Marie slowly points the gun at Gael's head, she is taking quick short breaths. She then puts the gun on his forehead as to not miss her shot. Her hands are slippery as she is sweating more, the weather outside is cold yet she feels hot. What will happen if she does pull the trigger? She asks herself.

Would the men rush inside and see him dead. Would they then rush her and kill her. As she continues to think she accidentally pulls the trigger which she realizes to late. It's completely silent inside the room, nothing happened. Marie is a bit confused, and a bit relieved that it was empty.

Gael then begins to laugh at Marie. "You're one crazy bitch you know that right? I can't believe you actually pulled the trigger, your face said it all." He continues to laugh as Marie just stares at him with a blank expression.

"Well I did know that you were capable of pulling the trigger which is why I had it empty. But it was very entertaining to say the least." Marie then begins to put the revolver down. "Oh don't do that Marie, keep it with you. It's to keep you safe and protected alright, you will be alone for a while." Gael says.

Marie then begins to tear up, Gael notices and before he could say anything. Marie begins to cry softly. "Hey hey, I was just joking with you. Don't cry now, it makes me seem like a complete jerk." This doesn't work as she still continues to cry, "Well then, I'll just take my leave. You can go if you want, you're not forced to stay here anymore." Gael stands up and then leaves the room.

Marie soon after runs outside the room, some men begin to call her crazy. Marie runs outside the building and gets her stuff. She is glad that she is leaving this life behind.

"Sir…Marie the girl just left, she won't be coming back anymore." Said one of the men, Gael then returns to the room. He smiles at them before he grabs a chair, and throws it at the wall. He then kicks the table and grabs it. He flips it over, and continues to kick around.

Gael is frustrated. "I thought she had valuable information, I thought she would've told us. That bitch didn't and we waste time, this is bullshit." He says as he breaks a chair, "That guy, Daniel, definitely has something to do with how much damage we are facing."

"Ever since he disappeared, Ashly followed suit, they are working together. I thought she would of told Marie, but no it turns out that they aren't friend at all." He says while he tries to calm down. "What is the name of that boy, the one who Ashly sometimes is around?"

"If I can recall, his name is Lucas." One of the man said. "May I ask why sir?"

"Well I'll make it simple for you to understand, he is a friend of hers. Since he is a friend she most likely told him where she is going. We will ask him nicely about her whereabouts and then leave." Gael said,

"That might be difficult as he lives inside the district of Iriage. We will get caught if we try to give him a visit." Another one said.

"I don't care alright, we will get to him. I'll make sure we do even if it's difficult, we have to find her." He said.

"The boss is right, the Lurkers seem more agitated than before. They are being more cautious, and it's because of Daniel. He told them about our plans, and we are now screwed." Said one of the men.

"Yes, that is a exactly why we have to find them both. We need to plan a big move or else they will get us. I don't know why I ever trusted that bastard, I should kill him myself." Gael then grabs his knife. "Don't worry John, you will receive some action once we get them."

The men around Gael look at each other weirded out by this. Of course none of them talk about it as they don't want to loose a body part or worse end up dead.
