Chapter 132 - High School Meanie

After dropping the kids off at school, Zara didn't know where to go. Her mind was blank, so she simply drove around until she spotted a coffee shop. It wasn't familiar, but it looked quiet enough.

Thankfully, Ace's chauffeur had returned Nana's car to her just as she was trying to order a cab. 

She parked and walked inside, choosing a corner seat by the window. It felt like her life had hit pause—like nothing truly mattered anymore.

In chasing the dream of becoming a career woman, she had lost the one thing that mattered most.

Her kids.

And now, her career too.

All she had left was her coffee and Kaka's book.

She opened the book and flipped through the pages, but something had changed. The words didn't feel empowering anymore. They felt heavy. Far away.

"I'm sorry, Kaka," she whispered, her finger resting on a line she had once underlined. "I don't think I'm the granddaughter you need. I won't choose your legacy over my kids."
