Ava's chest ached with emotion.
She slowly raised her hand and gently touched Liam's pale cheek. "Why didn't you let your assistant tell me the truth?"
Liam took her cold fingers into his hand. "I didn't want you to worry. Once I finish recovery and rest a bit, I'll be discharged."
"You not telling me only makes it worse," she whispered.
He lifted her hand and kissed her fingertips. "You're pregnant. You're sensitive to stress. I didn't expect anyone would take photos and leak it online."
Ava was quiet for a moment. "What really happened with Sophia entering your room?"
Liam's eyes darkened with disgust. "She's insane. Barely two minutes in and I kicked her out."
"Who drugged you?"
Liam's expression turned cold. "I've already sent someone to pull the hotel surveillance footage. Whoever set me up—Sophia's definitely involved."
A nauseous wave rose in Ava's chest.
She didn't think Sophia would stoop this low.
