Early the next morning.
Ava slowly woke to find herself curled in Liam's arms, her head resting against his bicep.
This VIP hospital room had two separate beds.
Last night, they had each gone to sleep in their own.
Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, Ava tilted her chin and looked at him.
"Why are you in my bed?"
Liam looked down at her. "You toss and turn in your sleep. I was afraid you'd fall off and hurt our baby. So I stayed to shield you."
Ava chuckled and lightly brushed her fingers along his sharp jawline. "Feeling any better today?"
"A little," he said. "Not as bad as yesterday."
They helped each other sit up, still drowsy, still weak.
One worried the other was pregnant.
The other worried he had just had his stomach pumped the night before.
Ava let out a soft laugh. "We're in our twenties, but we look like an old married couple in their eighties."
Liam smirked. "When we grow old, I'll go first. You follow later."
