Monday, two days later…
Regan and I just finished making love. Steaming and passionate as ever. We're breathing heavily, trying to even our breaths. He kisses me full on my lips and shifts from my body. Both of us are staring at the ceiling in his home. I've never been brought to his primary residence before. I was surprised when he brought us here, after he picked me from work.
"Why have you brought me here, Regan?" I ask, quietly. My voice stirs the still air. I feel him shift his gaze to me.
"Shouldn't I have brought you here? We're together, Rita." He quietly speaks.
I frown. Together? As what? I'm married and he's engaged. What do we call us?
"As what, Regan? What are we?" I ask, quietly.
He's silent. Perhaps thoughtful. When I wait and I see he doesn't answer me I turn away. Tears fall from my eyes. I'm having adultery with a man I genuinely love and I wish it didn't have to be like this. I feel him shift on the bed as he holds me.
