My mouth suddenly dries at Paul's words.
"If I'm not mistaken, your husband inherits this establishment once your father in law dies. So what's your reason for coming after my son, Regan?" He asks, coldly.
I shudder, reaching for my phone and spill some stationery, clumsily. When my eyes raise to his, he looks, appalled. I'm all nervous.
"Mr…Mr Heartstone." I gather the items and finally reach my phone. I don't even know who I want to call. Do I want to call Malachi? What do I tell him? Do I want to call Regan? But we haven't spoken since last night. He didn't call me and I didn't either.
I inhale shakily and maintain eye contact with him. "Mr Heartstone…I…"
"Paul is fine, Mrs Tenshaw." He corrects. I nod frantically.
"Melanie." I inform him. He arches a haughty brow. "I'm Melanie."
