Chapter 198 - Chapter 195: He's here again

Obito felt a chill run down his spine.

For the first time, he truly understood what it meant to have no control over his own life.

Yes—he had noticed it now.

The girl standing in front of him could have killed him at any moment.

But she didn't.

Because she didn't want to.

She was playing with him.

For her own amusement.

To her, he was nothing more than an insect to be toyed with.

Sakiya looked at them, smiling softly.

"Ahhh~ your little tricks were never going to work against the wisdom of my Death Eye."

Obito had misjudged her from the start.

He had assumed she was just strong—but still just a naive, reckless child.

Her unnecessary, almost theatrical actions had fooled him into thinking she was just a powerful but playful opponent.

But now, he knew.

She had been toying with him all along.

And that realization sent a deep, bone-chilling fear through him.

Sakiya, still smiling, tilted her head.

"So… since you two are bound by that ritual, any damage one of you takes, the other suffers as well. That means my earlier wound… has now doubled."

Hidan was the first to react.

He gripped his bloodstained scythe and charged forward, eyes burning with rage.

"You little brat! I'm gonna tear you apart!"

Obito hesitated.

Hidan's ritual was still active, meaning he might not die—but he could very well be erased completely.

He took a step forward, almost reaching out to stop him…

Then he remembered.

He remembered how Sakiya had toyed with him.

How every move he made had been meaningless.

In the end, he didn't move.

Maybe this was it.

Maybe it was pointless to keep fighting.

Hidan, fueled by bloodlust, closed the distance in just three steps.

His massive scythe came swinging down toward Sakiya—

But she didn't flinch.

With a slight movement of her finger, she simply tapped the air.

Ding!

The scythe stopped midair.

Like it had struck an invisible wall.

Hidan gripped his scythe with both hands, straining with all his strength.

"Damn it! Move!"

Sakiya looked at him with clear boredom, even letting out a small yawn.

"Too weak. Is this all your so-called god amounts to?"

She tilted her head slightly, her tone dripping with disappointment.

"At this level, you don't even qualify to be sealed by my Death Eye."

With a lazy flick of her finger—

Boom!

An invisible force erupted from the air.

The sheer impact rippled through the scythe.

A loud, sharp crack rang out—

The blade of Hidan's scythe split apart. The pole shattered, sending splinters flying.

At the same time, a spray of blood burst from Hidan's wrist. His grip was torn open, his fingers snapping back at unnatural angles.

He staggered backward, feeling a burning heat rush through his body.

A moment later—

He coughed up a thick mouthful of blood.

Yet despite his injuries, Hidan's expression remained twisted in rage. He wiped the blood from his mouth with his mangled hand and glared at Sakiya with wild eyes.

"You little—!"

Even with his hands crushed and his weapon destroyed—he still had his teeth!

With a crazed, almost animalistic snarl, he lunged forward, jaws wide open—

"STOP."

The moment the word left Sakiya's lips—

His body froze.

Hidan stood there, mouth still open, but unable to move a single muscle.

The only thing that still worked were his furious, bloodshot eyes.

Sakiya met his gaze, completely unbothered.

"Hmph. As expected of the so-called Great Evil… a being tainted with filth and darkness."

Her voice carried an eerie calm.

"My Death Eye will never tolerate such a wretched soul."

Her hand lifted, and in an instant—

A blazing energy sphere shot forward.

It smashed directly into Hidan's face, sending him flying—

And this time, there would be no escape.

Hidan's body flew only a short distance before crashing into the ground, skidding several meters.

BOOM!

The explosion tore through the area, sending debris flying.

Blood splattered onto Obito's mask, dripping slowly down its contours.

His expression remained cold, his gaze steady.

"So… are you planning to 'purify' me as well?"

Sakiya's eyes gleamed—pure, bright, yet piercing, as if she could see straight through him.

"You are a lost soul," she said. "A man used by others. A tragic fool. But the crimes you've committed… they can never be forgiven."

She raised her hand toward him.

"So, I'm sorry. I have to cleanse your corrupted soul."

At the words "used" and "tragic," something inside Obito snapped. His voice turned sharp.

"Used? Tragic? Corrupt?" He let out a bitter laugh. "Is that how you see me? Am I just another pawn in your game?"

His eyes narrowed.

"Tell me—what even is corruption? Why am I pathetic? Do you think you've seen everything? Is this just some kind of fantasy in your head? A game?"

Sakiya paused, then met his gaze.

"My Death Eye sees beyond time. It sees the truth inside people's hearts. And you?" Her voice remained calm. "You think you're a judge, delivering justice. But all you are is another blinded fool, forcing your own twisted judgment onto the world."

Obito's breath caught. He stared at her in silence.

Sakiya continued.

"People like you are tragic, yes—but even more than that, you're despicable. There are so many others who have suffered far worse than you, yet they still choose kindness."

Her voice turned sharp.

"But you? You use your pain as an excuse to ignore the happiness of others. You want to drown the world in illusion just because you couldn't find peace?"

"You have no right to make that choice for them!"

Obito closed his eyes for a moment before speaking.

"If the world were truly beautiful, no one would need illusions. But it's not. So if I can erase suffering, then I will."

When he opened his eyes again, there was a newfound resolve in them.

Sakiya smirked.

"You talk about saving the world, but all you've done is follow orders. In the end, you were just a pawn. And when your soul became so twisted that you even killed your own teacher—your sins became irreversible."

She raised her hand again, and a magic circle flared to life, gathering energy.

Obito tensed.

"Wait… aren't we supposed to argue about this?"

Sakiya's expression was serious.

"Villains talk too much. You talk too much."

Obito blinked. "...Something feels off about that logic."

But there was no time to dwell on it. His mind raced for a way to escape.

"Purification, ready!"

Sakiya's voice rang out cheerfully.

"Are you ready?"

Obito panicked.

"No! I'm not ready!"

"Too bad!"

Sakiya didn't wait.

"Three—"

"One—"

The magic circle flared.

A blinding light erupted, slamming into him.

Obito's vision blurred as memories flooded his mind.

But the moment didn't last long—

A massive blue samurai sword descended from the sky.
