Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: The Yu Clan

Chapter 89: The Yu Clan

After locating the clan's estate, Ye Cheng quickly arrived at the Yu Clan's mansion. Two strong men stood guard at the entrance. Upon seeing him, one of them stepped forward and asked politely, "Hello, what brings you here?"

As one of the Four Great Single Attribute Clans, the Yu Clan frequently received visitors looking to discuss business. Therefore, unlike the cliché scenes in third rate novels, where arrogant guards provoke guests and end up getting humiliated, this clan handled business professionally.

"I'm here to meet your clan leader regarding an important business deal," Ye Cheng stated calmly.

At this moment, he hadn't yet revealed his true appearance but merely released a small amount of pressure and let his nine soul rings flash briefly before vanishing again.

The guard's pupils contracted upon witnessing this. He didn't dare to show any negligence and immediately invited Ye Cheng inside.

This was the power of strength had he been a lesser soul master or an ordinary merchant, securing an audience with the clan leader would have been far more difficult.

Meeting the Clan Leader

Ye Cheng was led to the Yu Clan's guest hall.

Not long after, the clan leader, Niu Gao, rushed in.

"So, you're the one who wants to discuss business with me?"

Upon seeing Ye Cheng's young face, Niu Gao immediately felt irritated by his guard's report. This kid is supposedly a Titled Douluo?

He was convinced that this young man had used some kind of illusion technique to fake his strength and deceive his guards.

After all, while some powerful soul masters retained a youthful appearance, their aura and presence often betrayed their true age. Ye Cheng exuded a vibrant, youthful energy, making Niu Gao believe he couldn't be older than 30 at most.

"A Titled Douluo under 30? What a joke. Do you think everyone is Ye Cheng?"

With doubt and annoyance building up, Niu Gao's attitude turned cold. He walked to his seat and sat down with a dismissive expression.

"Fine, tell me about this business of yours," he said indifferently.

He had already decided if this kid couldn't present a convincing deal, he'd personally throw him out.

Ye Cheng remained unfazed by his cold attitude. He simply released a tiny fraction of his aura before speaking in a calm voice:

"I've long admired the Yu Clan's exceptional construction skills, so I'm here to discuss a deal. There are two ways we can do this. Which one do you prefer?"

Feeling the overwhelming pressure Ye Cheng momentarily released, Niu Gao broke out in a cold sweat. He immediately realized this young man's strength was genuine.

The hostility in his expression faded as shock and wariness took its place.

Forcing himself to remain composed, he smiled apologetically and said, "What two options do you propose, Your Excellency?"

"The first option," Ye Cheng explained, "is the most straightforward. I pay you, and the Yu Clan builds for me. A standard business transaction."

"And the second?" Niu Gao asked cautiously.

"The Yu Clan joins my forces," Ye Cheng replied. "I will still pay for the work, but in the future, your clan will never have to worry about money again."

As soon as Ye Cheng said this, Niu Gao's expression darkened.

If not for the overwhelming power he had just sensed from Ye Cheng, he would have slammed the table in anger and ordered him to leave.

Suppressing his frustration, he forced himself to stay calm and asked, "May I ask which faction Your Excellency represents? The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan? The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan? Or… Spirit Hall?"

At the mention of Spirit Hall, a faint killing intent leaked from Niu Gao's body.

Ye Cheng ignored it completely. "None of them," he replied, his voice steady.

As he spoke, he slowly removed his illusion, unveiling his true face.

"I represent no one but myself."

A thin mist covered his face for a moment before fading away, revealing his stunningly handsome features.

"You…!"

Niu Gao shot to his feet in shock.

Ye Cheng's face was now known across the entire continent. At this point, calling him 'a living legend' would be no exaggeration.

"I don't think I need to introduce myself," Ye Cheng said, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor despite his amusement at Niu Gao's jaw dropping reaction.

"So, which option will you choose?"

Temptation and Hesitation

Niu Gao's expression became conflicted.

Truthfully, he was tempted.

This was the youngest Titled Douluo in history, and one of the most powerful.

As a former subordinate clan of the Clear Sky Sect, Niu Gao knew better than anyone just how terrifying a Limit Douluo could be.

Years ago, when the Clear Sky Sect reigned supreme, it was all thanks to one man Tang Chen.

That single Limit Douluo's power was enough to make the entire continent tremble and establish the Clear Sky Sect as the strongest force.

But once Tang Chen disappeared, everything fell apart. The sect was nearly destroyed, and its allies like the Yu Clan were abandoned and left to fend for themselves.

"If Tang Chen had been around back then, Spirit Hall would have never dared to go so far…" Niu Gao thought bitterly.

And now, another Limit Douluo level figure had emerged Ye Cheng.

If the Yu Clan joined his forces, they could rise to glory once more.

More than that, just days ago, Ye Cheng had sold three soul bones in a legendary auction, earning over 230 million gold soul coins in a single event.

The Yu Clan was struggling financially.

Although their construction skills were renowned, they had few clients. Nobles and merchants rarely required high level architects, and soul masters didn't prioritize building homes.

The Yu Clan relied on commissions from royal families and wealthy lords, but there simply weren't enough clients. Maintaining the clan's expenses, supporting the Min Clan, and training future generations was an immense financial burden.

Niu Gao knew that joining Ye Cheng would be immensely beneficial.

But then…

He remembered the betrayal of the Clear Sky Sect.

They had trusted and served the sect for years, only to be discarded like trash the moment things went wrong.

Could he really trust another powerful figure?

Was it worth risking his clan's independence again?

Ye Cheng's Final Push

Ye Cheng saw the hesitation in Niu Gao's eyes and spoke calmly but firmly.

"Don't be so quick to refuse. You need to think about what's best for your people."

"You and I both know the truth, Niu Gao."

"Your clan is struggling. Whether it's finances, education, or future prospects you lack the resources to solve these problems."

Hearing this, Niu Gao fell silent.

He couldn't argue.

Soul masters needed money not just for training but for proper nourishment, cultivation resources, and soul rings. Poor soul masters were destined to fall behind.

But with their limited income, the Yu Clan could barely survive, let alone thrive.

For the first time, Niu Gao's firm resolve wavered.
