Chapter 15 - Box with a red cross

Lilyville, which was located in the 2nd division of the kingdom, was formed by the royal order of the Emperor that the kingdom should be divided into four parts, each part having a major controlling city: Cosford, Hereford, Swindon, and Banbury. These were ruled by their aristocrats, who controlled the town and the divisions, having their relatives or friends control the other cities in the division.

Two boys from Lilyville, Arthur, and Matthew, wanted to move out from their small village that didn't give them opportunities for the potential they had. But one day, when they were building their makeshift airship, they received a letter at their doorstep. Upon hearing the knock, Matthew got up and picked up the letter. It had the Tan crest sealing it—the black eagle on the golden-colored background.

"To: Arthur and Matthew

 Date: 12/02/ 5th decade

Address: 4th room, Robespierre Apartments, 3rd Street, Lilyville, Second Division

Mr. Arthur and Mr. Matthew,

Upon the request of the head of the Tan family of Cosford City, which is located in the third division of the kingdom, you two are requested to visit the Tan Manor along with your new budget airship prototype. We look forward to your visit. Thank you."

Matthew rushed toward Arthur, shaking his shoulders, "Arth! Arth! Tan has finally contacted us!"

Arthur looked at Matthew, confused. "You're joking. We got a return letter in 2 days!?"

Matthew shook his head and jumped. "We will finally be able to move out of this little city."

Arthur smiled. "Hard work paid off."

Their airship qualified for the quality check while also staying within budget. Lucius Tan, the head of the house, shook their hands and promised to commercialize their ships and give them a cut of the revenue of every airship. But they had to retrieve some papers at the 4th Den Dock at midnight from a ship named '3B', and on that ship, a box with a big red cross.

Lucius also allowed them to attack anyone who tried to steal the supplies from them or tried to take them before them.

Robert was walking through the empty streets—the streets which were usually filled with merchants, buyers, and people docking their ships. But due to the late time, all were in their houses. He looked as if the streets were cobbled and had potholes sometimes, due to poor drainage and traffic.

As he reached the 3rd Den Street, he hid behind a building, peeking from its walls as he looked at a bulky bald man, muscles that could compare to a bear, unloading the boxes. He slowly watched as the man only threw down the box with a big red cross.

There it is!

As the man threw it on the concrete platform, he got on his ship and departed from the port. Robert looked at his wristwatch, checking the time—midnight, two a.m. and ten minutes. He ran and picked up the box, starting to run. As he ran, he heard a gasp and a voice from behind.

"That man is taking the box!" the voice said. Then another voice came,

"Quickly, follow him!"

Robert started running with the box tucked under his left arm, and he took out his wand with his right.

I thought this was a safe mission!

He looked behind and saw two tall men. Both were wearing coats. One of the men's hair was red, and the other's was brown. Robert ran in the direction of the Cecil Mansion.

He looked at the beautiful mansion, but he was not in a position to admire it properly. He knew he didn't have time. But the Cecil Mansion was very close to the 4th Den Dock. Robert felt sudden heat on the back of his shirt as a sudden force knocked and sent him flying forward. He flew a short distance as the air left his lungs.

After a while, He didn't get up immediately and heard the voices while lying on the ground—two voices arguing.

I failed...

"Sh*t, Matthew, you didn't kill him, right?!" the voice was panicked. The other voice said, "I didn't mean to—I couldn't control my Bombardo, you know that!"

No, what are you thinking, Rohit? You can't give up. But you also can't fight them. But I need to protect this city and go back to my world. I will not give up!

Robert got up slowly and raised his wand, as blood was leaking from a cut on his forehead. He pointed his wand toward them and shouted,

"Bombardo!"

Suddenly, a magic circle formed quickly at the tip of his wand, and a huge red flame bolt fired from the circle, quickly heading toward Arthur. But he quickly swished his wand upward and cast Protecto, causing a small, semi-sphere transparent shield to form around him, which protected him.

Suddenly, Matthew pointed his wand toward Robert and chanted, "Cripplo." As he said that, a small transparent bolt shot from his wand and caused Robert's wand to fly from his hand and land on the ground.

I am screwed, he thought.

As he was about to raise his hands and give up, a voice came from behind Robert. "Oh my god, what is happening?!"

Miss Sidney?!

Robert didn't look back but saw the frightened expressions on the men's faces. Suddenly, Matthew pointed at Robert's wand and cast Aere. A magic circle formed at the tip of his wand, and a line of red and white color along with complex patterns connected from the tip of Matthew's wand to Robert's wand.

Sidney quickly raised her wand in the air, and the air around them started to flow more wildly and became very fast as the dimensional energy from the air began to concentrate at the tip of Sidney's wand, causing a small purple sphere overflowing with energy.

Sidney gracefully rotated her wrist and charged the sphere at them, but as it was about to hit, Matthew grabbed Arthur's hand Arthur chanted something that Robert was unable to hear due to the very fast wind, and they both disappeared with Robert's wand.

After a while, everything calmed down, and Robert fell back and collapsed onto the ground as his vision started fading. He heard the concerned voice of Sidney and footsteps approaching him quickly, but his vision faded.
