Life became a grind as I'm doing my best to complete 3 major projects before traveling again, one is the airborne T2 viral compound, another is my main ship ill be using for travels and the last is the 1st battleship. This ship will act as a prototype, with multiple mounted railguns, 360 degree defensive energy autocannons and one main gun on its belly.
The main gun is a massive beam weapon, that fires basically directed supercharged plasma. It will by my calculations cut enemy shields to shreds in less than 20 seconds. the tests where conducted using my newly designed shields, they can take sustained fire from Goa'uld ha'taks for indefinite amount of time, as long as there is enough energy supplying them, which also should not be a problem with the new naquadah super reactors.
Each ship sill have at least one of these fusion reactors, the reactor is small enough that even fighters will have one, along with their own shields.
every battleship will also carry 48 fighters in its hanger, each running 2 autocannons, using special explosive ammunition, and one main railgun for long range.
The Solitude will be a bit of a pet project of mine, running 2 prototype fusion reactor. These reactors are about 1/3 of the normal size and deliver 70% of the output of a normal one. They have a major downside of overheating when energy is not used, so to counteract this, the Solitude will run 3 shields, the inner 2 are normal high powered shields with the outer one being a prototype, A molecular disruption field, its use is to disrupt energy, causing most energy projectiles to lose up to 80% power once its makes contact with the outer shield.
The MDF shield, as I have aptly named it, loses efficiency the higher powered the projectile is. The ship is also designed to be piloted by me or Red and is manageable by a single person. it also has a decent sized cargo hold for goodies I loot.
For weapons I only went with a main laser similar but smaller compared to the battleship version, and 2 autocannons. It is also equipped with experimental FTL Warp-drive(definitely not foreshadowing :P), I built with Red. It should function, but we will need to run tests to see if it works. This type of engine also uses near instant, travel capabilities if one can acquire the specific spatial coordinates.
I got this Idea for a FTL engine when I was dismantling one of the extra gates laying around. I also got an idea from my own armour, to make an external hull plating with energy refracting material.
Now all of these projects may seem like a lot to complete in just little more than 5 months of time, I have remaining till the 1st generated travel log, but fear not, once the release of the T2 compound is finished, I can institute 12 hour work days, since everyone will only require around 4-5 hours of sleep, and would tire about 5 times slower than normal Jaffa, It will also absorb the symbiotes in those carrying them and heal the weird pouches.
Now I know 12 hour workdays sounds like torture, but one has to look at it not from the perspective of mere mortals. With all the benefits my people have acquired since I have taking over, they would gladly work 18 hour days, besides I decided to give them 1 day of rest every ten days, relative to Ignis Prime's day-night cycle.
'Ughh.. who am I even explaining this to..'
'Back to work..'
Two months later...
I was overseeing the construction of one if the new planetary defense cannons, when a message form orbit alerted me of the arrival of a Asgardian research vessel. Marking myself to be transported up to them, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was Heimdall with a few of her assistants. I must admit she is one of my favourite, right below Thor.
The reason being she is super friendly and has 0 bias toward other races, also she seems very 'down to earth' as one would put it.
I directed Her and her team to insert the Asgardian DNA matrix into our lab and waited for Red to conduct some initial compatibility test and rejection rates, Nirrti also arrive soon after. With Silvia currently hibernating for the next month, to adjust to the T4 compound and go through a growth cycle which will age her up to about 10 in human years.
The hibernation in nutrient solution is need to avoid any negative effects during growth as the t4 compound eats ridiculous amounts of nutrients to perfect every aspect of ones being.
Me, Nirrti and Heimdall got to work as soon as the Asgard set up their lab and made it linked with ours, right of the bat me and Red saw the same thing while running simulations in the background while Nirrti and Heimdall was hitting it off with both their dedication to genetic playing a massive role.
Red was the 1st to point out how insanely compatible Asgard physiology is to the Engineer DNA matrix, we would barely need to change anything from the neck down, but when it come to their brains it is a entirely 'different ball game', so to speak. Their brain where so insanely compressed and optimized that I am surprised that they have not decoded more of the Ancient archive.
One thing I found surprising about what Heimdall explained to me as to why the slowly lost the ability to procreate was related to the very low libido the Asgard had, which was a direct cause of their over developed brains. When cloning started being implemented it was the 1st thing they started phasing out along with their decrease in size, according to the records I have of Asgardian precursors they stood 1.8m in height on average.
Things quickly settled into a rhythm, Heimdall and Nirrti was hard at work overcoming the brain compatibility issues, while I was running simulation with ever available DNA matrix I had built till this day.
Having decided to use a modified Engineer template for the highest physical compatibility, and for mental I'm trying to reverse engineer my own version of a double brain, where both sides is technically a brain connected by a dense neural cluster, with one side dedicated to mainly processing and and bodily functions, the other will mainly act like a storage drive of a computer, with compartmentalized storage to help compress the massive amounts of knowledge the Asgard can store.
Me and Red have had some minor success in some simulations, we are mostly working one perfecting the biological supercomputer that will be the new Asgardian brain, Heimdall also agreed to this direction of development, when I showed Her what I was working on. She also seems to be interested in my simulation tech as the only equivalent they have to this is not nearly as advanced.
It took us all 3 weeks to finally make a breakthrough in the research, but surprisingly it came in the form of bio-nanite integration. When simulation are run with 30% of the Asgard brain being self-replicating bio-nanites, there is a 100% survival rate, even during consciousness transfer. This solution will help with the 1st phase but, it is not sustainable in the long term, because how does one transfer the nanites to their children.
The answer actually came from Heimdall herself, suggesting we create a specialized organ for producing nanites, which in turn can transfer them to the fetus before birth, the only set back now was finding a materrial suited for nanites, as my goo is not infinite, although the nanites don't need to be as powerful as mine they still need to be very string, and highly corrosion resistant.
This took us another week of back and forth till, Heimdall send a message to the Asgard requesting most of their prototype material research. It was also non surprisingly granted as the Asgard saw for the first time in millennia a future for their race. Although they would be classified a biological descendants of their original.
It took some time for the research to arrive, along with a molecular printer, so I went back to tinker with the 2 new ships, Heimdall came with to look at the MDF shield prototype, she stated that it might be able to disrupt communication between replicator block, their greatest enemy.
If it is indeed true then they might be able to push the replicators back somewhat, due to them not being able to board new ship thus effectively turning the war into attrition, with the replicators not being able to claim any Asgardian ships.
After the resources arrived, Heimdall and me ran a few tests with the shield, while Nirrti started testing alloys for programming and self-replication abilities. A few days later when I had the shield fully powered and running, we ran some tests to see its disruption effect on replicator blocks.
It turned out to be a major success as it burned the links in nearly 70% of all blocks than pass through it, which was a massive win of Heimdall, she stated they would be able to increase its power on their main battleships, which would in turn neutralize all blocks than pass through it. She was so happy she nearly started vibrating in place, and actually gave me a semi hug.
About 3 months left till system deadline...
