Noah looked at Noelle with some surprise in his eyes. He didn't expect a woman like her to be this… shy?
That thought felt almost funny to him. But he didn't laugh. He didn't mock her shyness in any way.
He just smiled softly. "What do you mean by 'I stalked you'?" Noah asked, completely ignoring what had just happened.
He didn't want to make Noelle feel awkward.
And Noelle was very aware of that—and instantly, her nervousness calmed down significantly.
She took a deep breath to steady herself and began to speak, though her voice was still soft, still calm.
"Exactly what it sounds like. I started observing you the moment you got a fragment of an Origin and destroyed that dungeon," Noelle said gently.
And instantly, Noah understood. He remembered that day—remembered feeling a strange instinctive pull, but also a sense of danger toward the gaping void he'd created.
Was she responsible for that pull? Or the danger?
