High Goblin Glorisse killed one of the mages and restrained High Elf Ylkyo with her wand while High Elf Frizzo killed the other mage and restrained Coralis with elemental magic.
"Talk," said High Goblin Glorisse.
"What is she doing here?" said High Elf Ylkyo, trying to break free from the restraining spell.
"I believe you know very well what she is doing here. I am addressing you, Ylkyo, what is this place? Why did you kidnap her mate?"
"We're conducting important research for the advancement of our race. Her mate? No, no mates were taken. She's lying to you and needs to be dealt with."
Coralis broke through the restraining spell and went to his throat, and High Elf Frizzo restrained her again.
"Oh, but you see, we did find her mate in your cells. Your lie stank enough that she broke through my restraining spell. Do I need to tell you what else we found by your dead staff?"
"Researches you were doing here never were sanctioned by the Elders council. People in cages? Really? Who is funding you?" said High Goblin Glorisse.
"No, no, I instructed my staff to not take any mated wolves. I didn't know her mate was here. This is not what it looks like, and I do not need to report to you, nor do I need to ask permission to do what needs to be done. Release me immediately so I can deal with her. She had no right to attack me."
"I heard and saw enough. Blue Thunder, you may do as you please with him. Gather any relevant evidence you can find in this room and meet us outside when you're done. Glorisse and I will finish combing this lab," said High Elf Frizzo before releasing her.
High Goblin Glorisse released High Elf Ylkyo as Coralis plunged her panther paw into his heart and toyed with it. His screams could be heard from outside.
Meanwhile, High Djinn Moraa counted how many humans and werewolves had been freed. The transports could be seen approaching their gathering point.
"Ylkyo tried to argue they didn't take Blue's mate," said High Djinn Moraa, while everyone looked up toward the screams.
"He dared say that in front of her?" said Sebastian.
"High Elf Ylkyo is behind this?" said Emery.
"Yes, with some others, I'm sure. Frizzo was restraining her, and she broke through it when Ylkyo said that. You heard where that led him after Frizzo and Glorisse were done talking to him."
"Didn't I tell you that they messed with the wrong human," said Liam, wrapping his arm around his mate.
"Hearing and seeing what they were doing in that compound, Blue and Eva should have been the very two people to avoid poking," said Emery.
"I knew she'd come, but I wasn't expecting that quickly with a coordinated operation like this," said Frank.
"Coordinated? I didn't coordinate anything with her. I could barely keep up, and the only thing she said to me on the way here was 'It's Frank'… besides what she responded when I found you and told her about the kind of place we walked in... She didn't tell anyone what was going on. I warned the others on our way here and opened a portal for them when I arrived, as instructed by High Mage Finnas, but it was all improvised. She took off, so did I," said Sebastian.
"Well, in that case, it was a very well-coordinated improvisation. It is restoring my faith in the CMMA," said Alpha Tanner.
"Agreed. We saw them approaching, and then more people coming through a portal, it didn't look improvised to me," said Aaron.
"You saw me opening the portal?"
"These two always look coordinated and in sync when working together because of their flyball background, I've come to realize that," said Emery.
"Yeah, it's exactly that. Plus, we're family, so I knew what was happening when she said his name in mind-link. I suppose that's all she needed to say," said Sebastian.
"If we had been coordinated, we probably would have tried to use a similar method as Blue did when she escaped jail instead of going in following a mage blinded by rage. We didn't even deactivate any cameras," said Emery.
"I'm glad it made us look good, but we will investigate this further to figure out why we never knew about this secret lab and why no Alpha ever reported any of these kidnappings. This place should have been taken down sooner," said High Djinn Moraa as the transports landed.
"It's simple, really. Our Alpha King is useless," said Aaron.
"High Djinn Moraa, before the transports take off with the unconscious ones, may I suggest that Eva and Blue look at them, to see if they can reverse whatever it is keeping them comatose," said Sebastian.
"That is a great idea," said High Fay Ellya through Eva's hologram, who was now on a 2-ways connection with the CMMA meeting room. "Agent Eva Suri and Blue Thunder have been able to reverse a lot of dirty experiments done to werewolves."
"I'll get started, then. Blue is still in there."
"Make sure Blue Thunder comes back here with you when you're all done," said High Mage Finnas.
High Djinn Moraa stopped anyone from transporting any unconscious ones into the transports to let Eva examine them first.
When done shoving the entire content of the desk and drawers in a bag left behind by High Goblin Glorisse, she searched the room for a secret safe and anything else she deemed relevant. On her way out, she made sure no one was left alive, trusting the CMMA agents had brought out all the people who were held captive.
Once out, she was exhausted and stopped walking a few metres away from the door. She dropped the bag on the ground and leaned her hands on her knees.
"Go to her," said Sebastian to Frank, giving him two vials of mighty monster juice, "and give her that."
Frank didn't need to ask him to repeat. He ran to her as soon as the vials were in his hands. Coralis raised her head in his direction when she heard someone approaching. She stood straight and gently put a blood-covered palm on his cheek when he got to her. She tried to pull him into a hug but he brought his free hand to her ear and turned her face to kiss her.
"I knew you'd come for me," said Fran, putting the two vials of mighty monster juice in her free hand.
She stayed silent, kissing him one more time before drinking the contents of the vials. Noticing he was shivering, she gave him her cloak and saw a large bruise forming on his shoulder as he grabbed it.
