When Kate hugged Anna, she whispered in her ear that her son was on the way. Anna was happy for her. After all, they were going to start a family.
Kate pulled away from Anna and looked at Adam with a debauched air.
"Are you really going to let me go without telling me that secret?"
Adam looked at her seriously.
"Do you promise that you will never, under any circumstances, talk about it with anyone else?"
"Of course."
Adam pulled her to him and said something in her ear, and when he let her go, Kate was pale.
"I imagined a lot of things, Adam. And even though I knew you'd surprise me one day, I didn't know it would be in such an immense way."
"What? What secret is that?" Anna asked curiously.
Kate turned to her.
"The locked room." Kate answered simply.
Adam presented Caricatura with a very old and expensive car, and a large house in the country, where he was sent to be in charge, with only Adam above him in decisions.
They left, and everyone in the house went to the gate to say goodbye.
The outside was also crowded with werewolves and their families.
Ian cried when he saw the car disappear down the road, and hugged Anna to hide his tears.
When they entered the house again, there was a merciless feeling that someone was missing. The silence was terrifying. Adam, however, didn't seem shaken... But there was something in his face that made Anna think he was sorry.
Anna knew that he had a lot of affection for both Kate and Caricature. And contrary to what Anna thought, it wasn't Mycon who took Cariacica's place, but Alexander. After the death of his wife's youngest son, he became as cold and cruel as Caricature. Always silent and without a smile. Anna avoided him. She didn't know how to deal with his pain. Ian, on the other hand, didn't seem to have this problem. He always asked about his daughter. Alexander always replied that he would bring her to play with Ian, and that he could also visit them whenever he wanted. Both things never happened.
Anna was very anxious that week. She could no longer spend days away from Max and their children. She couldn't sleep properly, thinking about the moment when she would be reunited with her family. And that week dragged on. The day Ian left, he came bouncing down the stairs happily. He hugged Adam and looked him in the eye as he walked away. They were already eating breakfast.
"Uncle Adam... I'm leaving today... But I want to spend every vacation with you. You don't have to miss me. We can see each other every day via video call." He said, running his small hands over her face affectionately.
"Do you know where to find me if you need anything? I'll always be here for you, Ian. Don't ever forget that." Adam said, and got up and hurried away.
Anna felt her heart squeeze. Adam went to cry far away from everyone's eyes. He clung to his son.
When Henry arrived with Tayme to collect Ian, Anna ran to hug her little girl. They talked for a long time.
Ryan came into the room and Anna noticed that Tayme's behavior had become more tense and she was worried. She didn't like Ryan and didn't know what he was capable of. He approached and stared at Tayme.
"What a beautiful little girl." He said, without malice.
"I'm not a child." Tayme said defensively.
He thought it was funny.
"Of course not." He agreed and was about to leave when he heard something strange.
"You need to preserve yourself young. For when I grow up." Tayme said, and when Ryan and Anna looked at her in surprise, they saw that her eyes were completely black, and they exchanged glances. Ryan turned around.
"Can I talk to her alone for five minutes?"
Anna kissed the top of Tayme's head and left them alone in the living room.
Ian had already packed his bags and decided to leave the weapons there. His father wouldn't approve of them, and he could use them on his vacation, when he came to his uncle's house. Adam arrived to say goodbye to Ian, and as he took him in his arms, he squeezed him close, as if he wouldn't miss him. Ian allowed him to hold him for as long as he felt necessary. They wouldn't see each other in person for a long time. Tayme also talked a lot with Adam alone. Henry hugged Anna and discreetly put something in her pocket. Then he whispered in her ear;
"Max will stay in the United States to rescue her. I'll fly straight from here to the private jet. All the family have already left... Max is nearby. When you want to leave, just call him and everyone we've bribed will be on standby. You won't have any problems. We infiltrated humans when Adam was hiring more men for his army. To get out of here, look for Adonis. I love you, my child. Soon, we'll be together again.
Anna was happier than she should have been. Adam couldn't perceive her happiness. After all, he believed that she would be without her children forever from that day on. And that was supposed to make her cringe. But he knew her well. And without her realizing it, he saw the joy in her eyes after her father's hug. The look in his eyes was bitter. He didn't say anything, but he felt there was nothing left for him after Ian left with his grandfather.
"What did Tayme want to say to you alone?" Anna asked curiously.
"Did you ask Ryan the same question?"
"No, I..."
"I'm not going to reveal her secret. But when she grows up, she'll surprise you all." Adam said in a tone like he didn't want to talk, and walked away, leaving Anna at the gate, watching the car that was driving them disappear.
Now she really was alone in that house. According to what they had been planning, only the next day, after Ian had been released from a prison he hadn't even realized he was being held hostage in, was she supposed to leave.
She went into the kitchen and made herself a very strong drink. She didn't want to have any inhibitions that night. She decided to give Adam the best night of his life, as Kate had advised. She had three glasses of the drink before she found the courage to knock on Adam's door. She thought she would find him lying down, but he was still wearing the same clothes and standing with his back to the door. Anna went over to him and hugged him from behind. She couldn't see the pain that shone in Adam's eyes, because when he turned to her, there was only desire in his eyes. His decision had already been made.
And yes, they both had the best night of their lives. And for hours, as long as they had the strength, they loved each other. They kissed and even swore to each other, until exhaustion fell upon them and they fell asleep sweaty, tired, but happy.
