30 minutes later
When I arrived at the Imperial City Hotel, it looked like something out of a magazine-sleek, tall, and shining with glass from top to bottom.
As I stepped through the automatic doors, cool air and the scent of fresh flowers greeted me. The lobby was wide and open, with glossy marble floors and modern art on the walls. Everything looked clean, expensive, and perfectly in place.
A long front desk made of dark wood and stone stood at one side, where staff in sharp uniforms welcomed guests with polite smiles. Comfortable couches and stylish chairs were set up around low tables, with soft music playing in the background.
There was a huge chandelier hanging in the center, made of a dozen small lights that sparkled like stars.
I slowly walked towards the lobby with my hands tucked in my pockets.
"Mr. Leonard, it's nice meeting you" the president of xxx corporation, Richardson, greeted me with a smile.
"President Richardson, it's my pleasure" We both took our seats opposite each other.
"I must say, you chose a very good place for our meeting today...you have a nice taste"
"Of course, I do when it comes to you, Mr. Leonard...I have to respect your father" he smiled as the waitress brought in the menu.
"Is there anything you'd like to eat?" the waitress asked.
"I'll just have the simplest meal on the menu".
"I can see you trying to maintain your muscular build Mr. Leonard" he laughed softly.
I slowly looked up at him.
"Yes, I should, unlike some people who doesn't go the gym at all" I gave a small smile.
He laughed awkwardly.
"You should also try hitting the gym President Richard...you'll look more attractive" I leaned back in my seat.
"Yes you're right, but that doesn't mean women don't find me attractive" he smiled at me.
"But that doesn't also mean you're not an attractive old man...even males and females will fawn at your beauty".
"Old man?"
"Oh, don't get me wrong Mr. Leonard-"
"Are you aware you're the same age as my father?...you're the old man here, old man" I grinned and we both laughed it off. I could see him clench his fists.
We simply talked about business for an hour, I was getting fed up with this man already...
"I'll take my leave now Mr. Leonard, until next time"
"Yes, until next time President Richardson" I gave a little smile as we both shook hands for a long time while looking at each other.
He pulled his hand away from my grip.
"Goodbye then" he forced a smile as he walked away.
The smile on my face faded as I glared at his back.
Just when I was about to leave, I heard the screams of people at the other side of the lobby...the paparazzi were also here, I could see they were following a celebrity who was staying at the hotel
I looked at the woman who was crowded, she clung onto her luggage and her bag, she was putting on sunglasses to cover her eyes and a nose mask, she lowered her face to avoid the paparazzi taking photos of her. The screams were getting louder every minute.
But just when I was about to turn and leave
"Ms. Lysandra!! Please look this way!!"
"I'm your biggest fan, Lysandra!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!"
"Lysandra!! Please marry me!!!"
"LYSANDRA!! LYSANDRA!!"
I halted in my steps.
Lysandra? Lysandra?
That name...could it be-
I turned around to see people trying to pull her...she was being harassed.
Before I could think twice, I dashed forward and walked into the crowd, I quickly wrapped my arms around her pulling her into my chest.
She was scared as she thought I was one of her fans trying to harass her...she looked up at me and her eyes widened in shock. I was also stunned...
It was my first time seeing her again after 10 years. We both stood still staring at each other, my hands still wrapped around as her fans kept screaming.
