✿ CHAPTER 49 ✿
When I arrived at my apartment, I was stunned by how clean and tidy it was. I remembered my apartment was a mess, like a lion's den...
"You're back" I turned around to see Alexander my hot neighbor leaning on the doorframe.
He was tall, lean but muscular, with that casually tousled hair that looked like he'd just rolled out of bed... and somehow made it look like a photoshoot.
His jawline? Sharp enough to cut glass. And those eyes, deep, unreadable, with a smirk always tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Trying to seduce me with that look? It won't work now Alex"
"A thank you is quite enough for helping you clean up your apartment since you've not been here" he smirked at me.
I rolled my eyes..."Thank you, SIR"
"I expected more than that, MA'AM" he flashed me a charming smile.
"Fine, what do you want then?" I dropped my luggage and bags on the sofa.
"A very relaxing dinner will be fit, don't you think?"
"Dinner with you?" I scoffed
"What? It's not like I don't deserve it after all the hard work I put in with your apartment"
"And I'm talking about the most expensive dinner here" he pushed off from the doorframe and walked in.
"Not now, I'm kinda occupied-"
"OH MY GOD" Sofiya walked with plastic bags in her hands.
"Oh, hi there, sexy guy" Sofiya winked at Alexander.
"Oh hi, you might be Sofiya right??" Alexander smiled as he turned to face Sofiya.
"Yes yes, I'm Sofiya...seems like you've heard about me already" Sofiya smirked at me.
"Uhm, yes I have... Amelia once talked about you-"
"Tell me, what did she say?" in the next second Sofiya was standing right in front of Alexander, he was startled by how fast she was.
I facepalmed.
"She uhm, she didn't say much about you, she just-"
"Just what!"
"That you're her cousin? I can't seem to remember much"
Sofiya smiled
"Oh right, I'm her cousin, Sofiya" She stretched her hand for a handshake from Alexander as she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm Alexander" he gave that charming smile again as they shook hands.
"Oh my! Don't smile like that again or I might just pee in my pants"
I shook my head in embarrassment
"What?"
As if realizing what she said "No no, I meant your smile is too flirtatious for my heart, so please don't smile like that around me, I have a poor heart condition-"
"I think that's enough for now, right Sofiya?" I gave her a warning look
"Ok, but can we exchange numbers first-"
"Sofiya!"
"Sorry" she chuckled as she winked at Alex
"Alex, already helped me clean up my apartment," I said
"Oh wow! No wonder! I thought we were in the wrong house you know"
"Excuse me?" I shot her a glare, what does she mean by that?
"I mean your apartment is like a landfill, Amelia"
"Pfft" Alex laughed
"Sofiya, what are you saying?" I raised an eyebrow
"What? Am I lying Alexander?" she smiled at Alex.
"Uhm-"
"Sofiya!!" I chased her as she hid behind Alex.
"Alexander! Tell her to stop chasing me!...she knows I'm telling the truth!" she hid behind Alex.
"Sofiya! You-"
"Amelia calm down okay? She was just joking" he smiled as he protected Sofiya behind him,
Sofiya smirked as her hands roamed all over Alex's arms and shoulders.
"Yes, save me Alexander" she grinned as she leaned close to Alex.
"Are you siding her now, Alex?...she called my apartment a landfill, why won't I get mad!"
"I don't think she was lying Amelia" he rubbed the back of his neck.
"WHAT!!"
N/B: A place where rubbish is kept is generally called a landfill.
