✿ CHAPTER 50! ✿
LEONARD'S POV
"There are other hotels you can stay at for the main time" I and Lysandra were in my car.
"I can't stay at a hotel for now, there's a 100% chance of them leaking it to the public"
"There's nothing I can do for you Lysandra, haven't I done enough?" I gazed at the laptop on my legs.
"You came back to the country just like that, with no manager or bodyguards"
"I traveled back here without them knowing, they'll eventually find me" She crossed her legs.
"By the way, can't I come visit my hometown...it's been years"
I sighed
"What do you want Lysandra?"
She turned to face me.
"Can you at least look at me, Leon? You've been avoiding looking directly into my eyes"
I clenched my fists slightly.
Leon? She is the only one who has called me that name since we were little kids...that little girl running in the yard chasing after me as she giggled that name, Leon.
"I guess somethings do change" She leaned back, looking out the window.
"You can go back to your parents', I have nothing to do with you anyways" My voice turned chilly.
I turned to My chauffeur "Drive to the Everly family mansion"
She turned to look at me again.
"What is wrong with you Leon?"
"Don't call me that Lysandra"
"Why? Does it hurt you to know that I'm back?... I am not going back to the family mansion"
I turned to look at her.
"Just let me stay at your place for a few days, I'll leave after my manager comes"
"And why would I just give in to your demand?" I stared at her.
"You'll never turn me down Leon, we're childhood friends-"
"You can't use that tactic on me Lysandra" I interrupted her.
She clenched her fists.
"Do you hate me this much Leon?" Her eyes turned red in an instant
I was taken aback
"I'm not ready to go back to the family mansion yet because I can't explain to them how I-" she paused, tears rolling down her eyes as she looked up at me.
"Don't you get it?... I haven't asked you for anything, just do me this one favor"
I looked away from her eyes...it reminded me of Amelia's tears that I wished to forget, those innocent eyes filled with tears.
"Drive to the house" I focused my gaze back on my laptop
"Yes sir" My chauffeur cleared his throat.
Lysandra looked away as she wiped her tears, sniffling...
"I know the past still lingers in our minds, but we can't seem to forget it," she said looking out the window with a little smile on her face.
When we arrived at my penthouse, I opened the car door and walked out, I felt suffocated on the inside like I couldn't breathe...My chauffeur helped take her things into the house.
She slowly stepped out of the car as she looked at the quiet surroundings.
"You chose a very quiet place to live, Leon" The chirpings of birds and rustling of leaves were the only sounds that could be heard.
I ignored her as I walked ahead of her into the penthouse.
"Sir, is there anything else I can do for you?" My chauffeur asked.
"No, you can leave early today"
"But sir, it's still morning hours"
"Yes, I know...I have nowhere to go today"
"Yes sir"
Lysandra walked in slowly
"Goodbye ma'am" he bowed slightly before walking away.
"I'll show you to your room" I walked ahead of her without turning back.
She clenched her fists as she watched me walk away, a dark glint in her eyes.
I never imagined ever having guests staying at my house, but luckily I did have guest rooms.
I walked into the first guest room up the stairs, Lysandra behind me.
I slowly opened the door.
"This will be your room for now" I stepped aside as she walked in, taking in the spacious room.
She turned to face me with a small smile on her face.
"Thank you, Leon"
"I don't usually have maids work for me, so by tomorrow, I'll bring in one" With that I turned around to walk away.
"Wait" she held onto my arm.
I slowly pushed her hands off.
"You can talk to me without touching"
She slowly took her hands behind her as she clenched them.
"I was wondering if we could go back to our favorite ice cream shop we loved to visit when we were little...I miss the memories there"
