Hyuga Gakuya let out a cold laugh, his hands forming seals at lightning speed. His eyes suddenly erupted with blinding golden light.
"Then allow me to show you what true despair looks like!"
Nine Truth-Seeking Orbs, wrapped in radiant golden chakra, slowly ascended into the sky. They began to orbit each other, spinning rapidly, eventually fusing into a single dazzling golden sun.
That brilliant golden sun burst forth with a blinding radiance, illuminating the entire battlefield as if it were midday. The light was so intense that the shinobi present had to squint their eyes just to look.
"Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion!"
From the golden sun erupted countless golden chakra beams, thin and precise, lashing out in every direction across the battlefield.
Some shinobi were instantly decapitated, dying on the spot. Others had their legs severed and collapsed to the ground, howling in agony. In just a few heartbeats, the entire field was drenched in carnage, dozens slain in a single, devastating wave.
In an instant, the area was transformed into a hellish battlefield of death and ruin.
Might Guy crouched low, his eyes bloodshot. Red chakra surged from his body like steam, roiling and building in intensity.
Gakuya recognized the technique immediately. It was the ultimate move of the Eight Gates Formation—Night Guy, unleashed from the Gate of Death.
"Night Guy!!"
Guy roared as his body transformed into a crimson dragon-shaped stream of energy, launching himself at Hyuga Gakuya with unstoppable force, full of self-sacrificial fury.
Gakuya's expression grew solemn. He gathered the myriad golden chakra beams into a single, concentrated blast—blazing with overwhelming energy—to meet Guy head-on.
But Guy's charge was simply too powerful. He tore through the golden beam like it was paper, the dragon-shaped stream of energy bringing with it an annihilating force that defied all reason, bearing down straight toward Gakuya.
Gakuya's eyes widened. Reading about this attack in the original story hadn't done it justice. Now, facing it directly, he truly understood its terrifying might—a strike that transcended life and death, shattering all limitations.
But it was too late to dodge. And he didn't want to use Kamui to escape either—this was the perfect moment to test the limits of his own strength.
Could he withstand this blow through sheer power alone?
BOOM!!!
The two forces collided with apocalyptic force, the air itself tearing apart at the seams. Light exploded outward in a blinding flash, and a deafening shockwave rippled across the entire battlefield.
Guy's kick slammed into Gakuya's stomach, packed with resolve and power beyond imagination. The impact didn't weaken—it carried him with unstoppable speed, launching him like a meteor.
They smashed through tree after massive tree. Thick trunks shattered on impact, snapping with sharp cracks as leaves scattered like they'd been caught in a hurricane.
Then they skidded across jagged cliffs, sharp rocks tearing apart beneath them, sparks flying, carving a deep trench into the stone.
Every combatant on the battlefield froze in place, stunned into stillness. Even the Six Paths of Pain halted as Nagato's attention wavered. The Allied Shinobi Forces stared wide-eyed in disbelief at the scene unfolding before them.
Their mouths hung open, too shocked to utter a sound.
The sheer force of Might Guy's final, life-burning attack had left every witness speechless.
"Th-this… Is this really the power of Guy-san…?"
Young shinobi looked on in awe, their faces filled with reverence, eyes shining with shock and admiration.
"I never imagined… that Might Guy could unleash power like that…"
A seasoned jōnin murmured to himself, his face locked in stunned disbelief.
As for Hyuga Gakuya's fate, speculation buzzed through the crowd.
"There's no way someone as strong as Hyuga Gakuya would die just like that… right?" someone whispered, doubt lacing their voice.
"I don't know… That last move from Guy-san was too terrifying. Maybe Gakuya really did—"
Another ninja trailed off mid-sentence, too afraid to finish the thought. Could such a terrifying opponent really have been taken down just like that?
...
As the smoke slowly began to clear, everyone held their breath, hearts pounding, bracing themselves for what would be revealed.
When the light and haze finally faded, a massive crater had appeared at the center of the battlefield. At the bottom lay Might Guy, unconscious—his fate uncertain.
The golden glow around Gakuya had completely vanished. He knelt on one knee, his body drenched in blood. A massive, gaping hole had been blasted clean through his abdomen, wide enough for light to pass through. His chakra was faint, his breath weak.
Coughing up a mouthful of blood, Gakuya took two deep breaths.
"That was… a real pain in the ass…"
The gaping hole in his stomach was already beginning to close at a rate visible to the naked eye. But this wasn't the doing of his Toki no Kage's time-reversal. That ability had already been pushed to its limit.
Now, he was relying purely on the insane regenerative power of his Sage Body and high-level medical ninjutsu.
To block that one blow, Gakuya had used nearly everything he had—Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, Truth-Seeking Orbs, Susanoo, and Toki no Kage's time reversals, burning through vast amounts of chakra just to survive.
And honestly… he was starting to regret not taking it more seriously from the start.
Still, it didn't matter. He had backup.
Gakuya pulled out a kunai etched with the word "Protection" and stabbed it into the ground. In the blink of an eye, a beautiful woman with long black hair and a cool, elegant aura appeared by his side.
It was Uchiha Hikari, who hadn't appeared in the story for quite some time.
He hadn't used her in a while, keeping her in his harem more like a decorative ornament. But now, she finally had a role to play.
Over the long period of peace, Gakuya had already instructed her to master the Flying Thunder God Technique.
And now she had grown—from a girl into a mature, formidable woman. She looked almost like a gender-swapped version of Uchiha Madara.
...
Hikari immediately stepped forward and supported Gakuya's arm, concern deep in her eyes.
"Gakuya-sama, how could you let yourself get injured like this…"
Gakuya shook his head lightly.
"Transfer chakra to me."
"Understood."
Hikari activated her Yachihoko dōjutsu, instantly establishing a link with every ninja in Otogakure. In a flash, a torrent of chakra surged into Gakuya's body, restoring over half his reserves.
Even shinobi thousands of miles away in the Shinobi Federation offered up their chakra reverently.
Countless streams of chakra flowed into Hikari's body—and from there, directly into Gakuya.
With such massive chakra support, Gakuya's recovery accelerated rapidly. Within moments, he'd healed about thirty percent. He still wasn't anywhere near full strength, but it was more than enough to continue the show for now.
He patted Hikari on the shoulder. She'd served her purpose—as a living battery. Any longer and she might disrupt his performance.
"You can go now. I've got this."
"...Fine."
Hikari gave him a slightly bitter look. Always called when needed, dismissed when not. But an order was an order. She activated Flying Thunder God and vanished.
Gakuya reached up and ripped off what remained of his shredded shirt. Standing tall once more, he looked toward Might Guy—now unconscious and burning hot with residual chakra.
"It's over. I'll give you an honorable end."
Strangely, something about this scene felt familiar to Gakuya—like he'd seen it somewhere before. But there was no time to dwell on it.
He raised a Truth-Seeking Orb and fired it straight at the unconscious Guy.
