Ivy stiffened, hearing the familiar voice. For a moment, she wanted nothing than to duck back into the spa.
However, it was already too late.
Chole Reed's voice had attracted everyone's attention. Her burgundy hair fluttered as she turned to look at the other team members.
"Ivy?" Silas's voice struck a chord, and Ivy turned her head mechanically in Silas's direction.
One look was enough to make Ivy's heart skip a beat.
Silas's black hair fluttered in the wind, while his deep black eyes stared at Ivy, as if, other than Ivy, no one existed.
His fair skin was so envied that even his teammate once lamented if Silas could lend their skin to her.
Dressed in a white shirt paired with a black waistcoat and black pants, he looked like a mafia boss walking out of some TV serials.
His sleeves were rolled to his elbow, making his well-defined hand visible.
There was a waistband clinging to his waist, in which was the modified pistol he always carried.
With a height of 190 cm, it was pretty easy for him to survey the entire area.
"Hi..." Ivy said in a small, awkward voice.
The moment Silas saw Ivy, his hand twitched. Without hesitation, he called her,
"Come here."
Ivy didn't move. She was trance. The current Silas's image overlapped with the figure who, even after being exploited by her, always reached out his hand,
"Ivy... come here. Let me check your injuries."
"Let me check your injuries," Silas said softly.
Involuntarily, Ivy started to walk in his direction.
Even though she didn't want to get close to Silas, she swore never to disobey his words ever again.
It was only because she hadn't listened to his words that, in the end, he died.
Once Ivy reached near Silas, he softly tucked a lock of pink hair behind her ears.
With just that gentle move, Ivy's heart felt stuffy, and it became a bit difficult for her to breathe.
"Are you hurt? Did they hurt you?" Silas asked worriedly.
Henry, who was watching everything, finally had enough and said in a displeased tone,
"Ivy, don't act like you aren't at fault! You took away all of our Boss's saved-up ration, and now you are pretending to feel guilty. "
"Shut up," Silas shouted, silencing Henry with his cold eyes.
Ivy, however, remained silent. If she were the Ivy from the previous life, she would have fought back and scolded Henry while trying to explain that she was innocent.
Yup... that was how despicable she was.
There was no excuse for her past behavior, and hence she decided to stay silent.
Amelia, standing beside Henry, smacked him on his head and scolded,
"Why are you interfering? Let Boss deal with his matter. Not to mention... even she was tricked."
Her last sentence was said in a voice only Henry and Silas could hear due to their enhanced hearing.
But Ivy, for some reason, was able to hear it too.
She clenched her fist and apologized in her heart,
'I am sorry Amelia... you were always good to me... and yet... led you to your death...'
"I am sorry." Ivy suddenly bowed to Silas.
Surprise flashed in Henry, Chloe, and Amelia's eyes.
Was this still the same woman who used to ungratefully scold them even after snatching their captain's share of food?
However, soon they frowned.
They exchanged glances and reached a conclusion.
'Ivy was using the same trick.'
She would apologize to them, wait for them to return, and then ask their captain to dine at her home.
Even Silas thought so, too. After all, Ivy had used the trick too many times. Yet he couldn't bear to see Ivy suffer, so he instantly straightened her and said,
"No need. It wasn't your mistake."
Ivy stared at Silas's eyes, and her heart sank.
Silas still loved her... it was visible through his eyes. But... the trust he used to have seems to have vanished completely.
Suddenly, she came up with an idea and asked,
"Are you all hunting for food? Would you mind if I joined? Whatever I get, I will give 50% to Silas as repayment."
"No!" Henry shouted.
"I disagree." Chloe followed Henry.
"Okay." Silas agreed.
Henry and Chloe stared at Silas in horror, and they wanted to protest when Silas shot them a look, and they could only shut their mouth.
