But compared to what Tang San endured, what they went through was nothing.
Bo Saixi's requirement for Tang San was to stay on the Sea God's Pillar day in and day out — all twelve hours of the day, 365 days a year — eating, drinking, sleeping, and even relieving himself all had to be done there.
For nearly 200 days, the three girls spent every single day under the constant crash of ocean waves.
Each day brought hundred-meter-high waves slamming into them, followed by Bo Saixi's healing, brief periods of rest, and then the cycle repeated. Even when not directly resisting the waves, they had to train their soul power relentlessly.
Only by doing this could their just-recovered bodies return to peak condition, ready to face the next challenge.
This grueling environment ruthlessly pushed them to their limits.
But through this extreme tempering, soul power was no longer just energy within their bodies — it was being infused into their meridians, flesh, and bones by the force of the ocean waves.
This form of body tempering was harsh and tyrannical. Without immense willpower and considerable strength, it was impossible to endure. But for those who could, the benefits to the body were immense.
This was especially true for them, who had consumed immortal herbs a little over a year ago — the wave-battering training helped them refine the medicinal power still latent within them.
And the herbs, in turn, helped accelerate their recovery.
After 200 days, four streaks of light flashed on their foreheads.
Having completed their third trial, the girls collapsed on the ground without a care for their image.
Dugu Yan cried out, "Let's head back to Sea Dragon City and rest for a few months before the next trial!"
Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi both looked to Yu Tianming. "Young Master, we've been training our bodies in the waves for almost seven months now. It's time for a proper break."
Yu Tianming looked at the exhausted trio. They had indeed given it their all. After a moment's thought, he asked Dugu Yan, "Yan Yan, what's your fourth trial?"
Dugu Yan immediately sat up and replied, "It's the Battle of the Sharks and Orcas — I have to assist the Devil Soul Great White Shark clan and kill at least ten Evil Orcas."
Before Yu Tianming could say anything, Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi chimed in together, "Ours is the same — kill ten Evil Orcas."
Yu Tianming smiled. "My trial is to kill thirty Evil Orcas. Looks like this round won't take too much time. Why don't we take a short break first?"
Their trials didn't require killing the Evil Orca King like Tang San's had.
Was it because Yu Tianming, as a Sea God candidate, hadn't reached level 80 soul power and therefore didn't need the Orca King's soul ring?
Amid cheerful chatter, the four returned to Sea Dragon City.
The city's master, Sea Dragon Douluo, remained stationed at the Sea Dragon Sacred Pillar and rarely returned.
But when they arrived, the purple-robed sea spirit masters warmly welcomed them and told them that the top floor of the City Lord's mansion had been kept ready for them all this time.
After a night's sleep in the mansion, everyone finally started to relax — though their methods of relaxation varied.
Dugu Yan loved clinging to Yu Tianming, resting her head on his shoulder while wandering Sea Dragon City, sampling Sea God Island's specialties, or bartering with locals using soul tools.
Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi, however, had different ideas. Since Dugu Yan was always monopolizing Yu Tianming, the two of them took advantage of her inattention to sneak in their own moments of intimacy with him.
One month later, at midnight—
Dugu Yan stirred from sleep, instinctively reaching for Yu Tianming — but found the space beside her empty.
Wide awake in an instant, she recalled how Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi's cheeks were always flushed mysteriously. Dressed in silk sleepwear, she activated her soul bone's ability — Spatial Blink — and teleported into the next room.
The room was pitch black.
Yu Tianming, who had exceptional perception and quick reflexes, had already dressed but hadn't had time to leave. So he stood there awkwardly at the foot of the bed.
Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi, slower to react, had wrapped themselves tightly in the blanket, with only their heads sticking out.
Dugu Yan's voice was cold. "Tianming-ge, what are you doing here? And what exactly are you two doing?"
"I was just getting up in the night and thought I'd drop in to chat with Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi," Yu Tianming replied.
"We were just talking with the Young Master," the two maids added quickly.
Dugu Yan wasn't stupid. She didn't believe their obvious lie. Her face darkened, and with a swift pull, she yanked the blanket away, revealing the two girls' naked bodies.
Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi shrieked and grabbed towels from their soul tools to cover themselves.
Thanks to her martial spirit's night vision, Dugu Yan saw the scene clearly — not only were they completely nude, but their pale skin was blotched with red marks.
Although Yu Tianming had used wind to circulate the room's air, the wet spots on the bedsheets were still visible and hadn't been cleaned.
Her fists clenched.
"Doing this under my nose, and then trying to lie to my face — do you think I'm a fool?"
"Madam, we're just used to sleeping naked…" Ah Zhi's voice trailed off under Dugu Yan's murderous glare.
Looking at the voluptuous bodies of Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi, which their towels couldn't hide, Dugu Yan bit her lip, tears brimming in her eyes as she turned to Yu Tianming.
"Tianming-ge, do you not like me? Or do you think my body isn't as good as theirs? You actually ignored me, the main wife, to sneak around with two concubines…"
Perhaps it was due to her inherited Jade Phosphor Serpent martial spirit — like her grandfather, her figure was slender and long. It was only after consuming her second immortal herb that she'd started to develop curves.
But how could a girl whose spirit had only evolved for a year and a half compare to Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi, who were nearly twenty and already well-endowed?
As she spoke, her soul rings flared beneath her feet, a green glow radiating from her body. Her voice trembled with rage.
"I'm the main wife! I was the one who established a relationship with Tianming-ge first. You two are just concubines!"
Seeing things escalate, Yu Tianming quickly rushed to her side and gently wrapped her in his arms, coaxing her softly.
"Yan Yan, it's only because you're still young that we haven't done anything more. You're the one I truly love."
"They're just maids — you're my only wife. I've spent every day with you, haven't I?"
"When you come of age, we'll marry."
Yu Tianming knew full well that women in this world were different from those in his past life. Polygamy was common, and what mattered most was the main wife's status and how her husband treated her.
What Dugu Yan cared about wasn't the existence of concubines — it was whether her position was being challenged, and how Yu Tianming felt about her.
Hearing those three explanations, the green light around her slowly faded.
"Until we're married, you're not allowed to touch them again," she declared fiercely before letting him lead her out of the room.

The Next Day – The Island's Outer Shore
Due to the incident the night before, the four resumed their mission earlier than expected, cutting their break short.
Standing on the soft beach, Yu Tianming unfurled the wings on his back and rose into the air.
He activated his second soul skill: Electromagnetic Sense — a vast-range detection ability.
After absorbing his seventh soul ring, he'd gained many abilities that belonged to King Ghidorah, including the overwhelming spiritual pressure used to command monsters in the movies.
At level 70, he could now use his electromagnetic field much like Bo Saixi and Tang San used spiritual force — to communicate telepathically across wide distances.
Everywhere within a hundred kilometers of Sea God Island was within his detection range. Soon, he located a twenty-meter-long Devil Soul Great White Shark — the Shark Queen, Xiao Bai — and sent her a message.
As one of Sea God Island's guardians, Xiao Bai was patrolling when she suddenly received Yu Tianming's signal.
Recognizing the divine authority and immense pressure in the message, she immediately swam toward his location.
Before long, her massive head emerged from the water, eyes filled with cautious curiosity as she gazed at Yu Tianming.
Behind her, dozens of triangular white dorsal fins began surfacing. The once-peaceful sea now roiled with the presence of dozens of ten-thousand-year Devil Soul Great White Sharks.
Xiao Bai asked, "My lord, what do you need of me?"
"I'm starting my fourth trial and I need your help," Yu Tianming said.
At the mention of the fourth trial, Xiao Bai transformed into her human form and landed before them, expression serious.
"This test is no joke. Are you sure you're ready?"
Dugu Yan asked, "Xiao Bai, is this trial really that difficult?"
Xiao Bai frowned, her blue-gray hair catching the sunlight. "Evil Orcas aren't easy opponents. They're one of the most savage sea creatures. Only the Deep Sea Demon Whale King can restrain them even a little. Unlike me, they're not reasonable at all."
"Just how powerful are they?" Dugu Yan pressed.
"My brother was killed by their king," Xiao Bai said through gritted teeth. "If I could, I'd wipe them off the face of the ocean."
"Among sea spirit beasts, we are divided into tiers. We, the Devil Soul Great White Sharks, and the Evil Orcas, and the Deep Sea Demon Whales are the apex predators of the ocean. But even among us, there's a gap."
"The Deep Sea Demon Whales are strongest but few in number. They live solitary lives, waiting in the deep sea for prey."
"Next come the Evil Orcas. They travel in large pods and have few natural enemies, so their numbers are frightening. Even the Demon Whale King avoids provoking them."
Her eyes darkened. "They kill for pleasure. Even when not hungry, they'll slaughter anything they encounter. Every sea spirit beast loathes them, but no one dares challenge them."
"There's a pod of them about 500 kilometers from here. Every few decades, we fight a holy war with them."
"Who usually wins?" Dugu Yan asked.
"We always end up on the losing side," Xiao Bai admitted. "If not for the protection of Sea God Island, we'd be extinct by now."
Yu Tianming nodded. "If we're going to face them, tell us more about their strength."
"Adult Evil Orcas are 20 to 25 meters long. Their bodies are powerful, with razor-sharp teeth and devastating abilities. One of them can fight two of my kind at once. They leave no survivors."
"There are around 300 of them — about 200 fully grown. Fortunately, their reproduction is slower than ours."
"If their king led them, they'd be powerful enough to challenge the Demon Whale King — but doing so would risk extinction, so they never dare cross into his territory."
Dugu Yan frowned. "So helping you attack them means we'll be taking on half their assault?"
Xiao Bai snorted. "If you're scared, don't come. If not for the Sea God's orders, I wouldn't pick a fight with those lunatics either."
"And their speed?" Yu Tianming asked.
Xiao Bai's voice turned proud. "In terms of long-distance travel, no sea spirit beast can match us. They may be stronger in combat, but we're faster. Otherwise, we'd have been wiped out long ago."
Yu Tianming grinned. "I might have a way to help you kill enough Evil Orcas with minimal losses."
