Like most people, as she had grown, Ariel had drifted away from her childhood friends. Bonds that she had once viewed as unbreakable simply fading away. But unlike most people who managed to make new friends later on, she found that she just never had the time. It was a sad thing, only having her brother.
During the in between moments when she was not so busy. Ariel often promised herself that she would make time for more than just her business and her one remaining family member. But the time had never come, at most she had just been able to reach out to her now distant childhood friends.
But even when they talked, there was no getting around the fact that their lives had taken different paths, and they were no longer close. They no longer had inside jokes, or could tell with just a single look what the other was thinking.
That had always bothered Ariel, but now she was glad for it.
