Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Exit and ambush (Fixed)

Once morning arrived, everyone was up, had breakfast, and cleaned up, and they had to organize what they would and wouldn't take on the boat.

With all that arranged, the new log pose route was barely set, and they set off.

They spent two more days in the island cluster, visiting one island with no human life. They were fortunate that when they reached the open sea, the tropical air was quite pleasant, but they still decided to escape as quickly as possible.

During this time, they had many days to talk.

The Häyhä family has always been a fishing family, having spent much of their lives at sea, just like a pirate.

Ruminoff specializes in fishing with a pole and its derivatives, while Trinity is more skilled with a harpoon and crossbow. Before the accident, she had practiced spearfishing by holding her breath underwater.

It's a shame all that was lost, and all I found were three rods.

And there we were, the three of us fishing, in total silence, putting our full concentration on fishing, at least the two of us.

I was focused on looking at the system shop; with what I'd learned on the boat I'd been traveling on before, I'd earned 100,000 LP, of which I spent 70,000 LP on the fencing styles book and such.

I looked for ways to use the remaining LP, but there wasn't anything useful or interesting. The most I could do with it was buy precious stones and sell them at a random shop, but I knew it was better to save the remaining LP just in case.

Besides, I still had Hunter, who could find me some shiny things to sell; oddly enough, he went with me on the boat, so in theory there are four of us.

But speaking of things that interest me, I have my eye on two specific weapons. The first is Sun Wukong's staff, the stick that stretches and contracts; I think it also increases and decreases in size, but I don't know if it varies according to the legend of the monkey or if I was just too high at the time.

The second is Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. Unlike the staff, there were several different hammers here, almost all different. The most expensive and, I think, the strongest is the Marvel God of Thunder's Mjolnir, since if I'm worthy, and I obviously would be, I could obtain Thor's powers.

But I wasn't aiming for that one, but for the hammer from the anime Valkyrie. That big hammer that has a life of its own and makes you look terribly badass—well, I think so.

That's still a long way off, though; after all, the staff costs 25,000,000 LP and the Mjolnir costs 40,000,000 LP. Just so you know, the Marvel hammer costs 150,000,000 LP.

We spent several days wandering at sea, seeing nothing but the blue ocean and our faces.

At one point, I felt the need to say what I was doing before ending up stranded on the island.

There I had to tell them again that I was a writer and that I traveled the world writing stories, but my real dream was to become a great hero recognized by the entire world.

With this, I had to tell stories every night to entertain them both and not lose my cover.

These days, I've gotten to tolerate Trinity; she's too free-spirited, plus she wants to be a wealthy lady in the future and all that.

Honestly, I wanted her to join me on my hero's journey. She's good at aiming and shooting; she has vision that can go quite far; she can even do it by looking at the bottom of the sea.

I have a way to convince her to join my pop group, I mean, a group of heroes, but I'm going to wait until we get to the island; I don't want her decision to have too much influence, Ruminoff.

After two weeks and five days of wandering at sea, we arrived at the island marked by the magneto clock.

It wasn't a large island, with a town with a port and a ship without a flag.

It's a shame we don't have a spyglass to see further.

As we arrived, we realized there was no one around, as if it were an abandoned village. Given this situation, I can only think of one thing.

Pirates.

Or it was a surprise party for us.

I just hope it's the latter.

When we were about to reach the entrance to the island, my instincts kicked in. Something was going to happen, or we'd find something bad here.

We stared at the port for a few moments, not knowing what to do.

Dante: "This gives me a bad feeling." I looked at Ruminoff. "How long do we need until the log cabin is ready to leave?"

Ruminoff: "I have no idea." at that moment he jumped out of the boat and headed back to the port. "Stay with Trini and look after her. I'll look over the place."

I don't like that idea, but there's nothing I can do; he's already exploring the port.

The place wasn't that big, so he got to the town right away.

Dante: "This all gives me a bad feeling," I say to the air. Trinity looks from her father to me.

Trinity: "Why are you saying that now?" she retorts, then looks ahead again.

I see Ruminoff peek out from behind a bar, opening his eyes and screaming.

Ruminoff: "ESP—!!" he couldn't finish screaming as a large rock hit his head.

At that moment, several pirates who were hiding in the town came out.

Dante: "Fly!!" I told Hunter to get off my shoulder.

With a jump and with all my strength and weight, I landed on the boat, flipping it over.

As we fell, I grabbed Trinity by the hug so she wouldn't stick her head or body out of the water.

We had to get out of here, and we couldn't do it through the port; the place was full of pirates. I didn't know how many of them there were, so escaping and hiding was the best option.

Once in the water, she stared at me; I signaled for us to head to a secluded part of the island.

I swim as fast as I can to the shore while Trinity is right behind me.

Once outside, I check the area to see if it's safe.

Luckily, there's no one around.

Just then, Trinity runs off in the direction where the town should be.

I run after her and catch her, knocking her to the ground.

Trinity: "What do you think you're doing, you piece of shit?" she says in a furious tone.

What a clean mouth.

Dante: "Keeping you from getting killed." Before she could reply, I said, "Think before you act. Don't show up there and try to rescue him. You won't succeed, and you both might end up dead or worse."

She remained silent.

We started hearing noises; they must have come to find us and capture us.

We hid in some bushes; I saw two men appear near where we were.

I signaled to Trinity to be quiet and not move.

As soon as one of the men came within a certain distance of us, I punched him in the jaw with a single motion, knocking him out.

As soon as he fell, I used the soru to get to the other man as quickly as possible. He couldn't react in time, and with a little more force and speed, I hit him in the stomach, causing him to crash into a tree and fall unconscious.

I looked around and saw something peeking out.

Again with the soru, I moved in to knock him out, and as I was about to reach him, he said,

???: "Wait, I'm not a pirate; I'm a survivor living on the island."

I managed to stop myself before hitting him.

I stared at him.

He was a young man about my age, about 5'9", with short black hair and brown eyes.

I looked around to see if anyone was there, and sure enough, it was just the three of us.

Trinity then came out of the bush where we were hiding.

???: "You're planning to defeat those pirates, right? Let me help you. I want to avenge my family and the people who lived in this town."

I stared to see if he was a hidden pirate or something, but my instincts told me he wasn't; I decided to calm down since I didn't see or feel any danger.

Dante: "I was planning to do that from the beginning." I stared at Trinity. "But for that, we need a plan and everyone's help."

I looked back at the young man.

Trinity: "What's your name?"

???: "Arthur."

Dante: "Well, my name is Dante."

Trinity: "And I'm Trinity."

I pulled the two of them to my side, like they were in a circle. To emphasize that I would be the leader of this adventure.

Just as everything must be perfectly balanced.

Dante: "Before I build a plan, I'll need both of your help and some important things to do."

I'm here to say that I'll be slow to write the following chapters, not only because I'll be doing differential equation exercises, but also because I want to write what comes next in the best possible way and with the best writing.
