Arlo Seys gently murmured a sound of acknowledgment then asked, "You said you had something to do and couldn't come to tutoring today, was it because they wanted to pick on you after school?"
Ariel Morris paused her hand that was applying the ointment, her eyes slightly lowered, and nodded her head.
Arlo Seys's expression and tone both darkened a bit, "Why didn't you tell me?"
If he hadn't just happened to want to deliver the notes to her and followed her, what would have happened? How could a girl like her fend off five boys?
Ariel kept her head down and stayed silent, her fingers rubbing the ointment evenly on Arlo Seys's cheek.
Arlo Seys's gaze was sharp and questioning as he looked directly at Ariel Morris, "Ariel Morris, don't you have a brain? Can you handle five boys by yourself?"
"Don't you have my number? Why didn't you explain in your message why you weren't coming to tutoring?"
