"Well, well, look who finally stepped out of her castle," Richy teased, lifting his glass. "What brings the Queen of Broken Engagements back to this side of town?"
Chloe sauntered in with all the grace of a catwalk model and none of the innocence. "Oh, I was bored," she said with a stretch. "Thought I'd visit my fake boyfriend."
Charles scoffed, not even getting up. "You mean the boyfriend who dumped you before the public could finish the headline."
"Ouch," she said, grinning. "Only a crazy guy would ever try to settle down with me anyway."
Mino smirked. "Exactly why you and Charles would've made the perfect nightmare couple."
"Damn right," Chloe replied, tossing her coat onto a nearby chair and plopping onto the sofa beside Charles. "Toxic recognizes toxic."
Charles gave her a side glance. "Just don't mistake that for chemistry."
She leaned closer, voice dripping with mock sweetness. "Aww. Still bitter I never picked you?"
