Chloe sat frozen, the phone still in her hand, the video paused on Sophie's face. Her eyes narrowed, and for a moment, she said nothing. Her thoughts spiraled.
"So… this girl has grown this much already," she muttered under her breath, leaning back against the headboard. A slow, uneasy smile crept onto her lips. "She looks exactly like her mother—those sharp, stubborn eyes. But that mouth... that boldness? That's all Charles."
She let out a small, dry laugh, but there was no amusement in it. "Sophie… huh. So that's her name."
Her fingers tapped the side of the phone as she processed the weight of what she had just seen.
"All these years, Elena has been off the radar. Of course—it was because of her. She retreated to raise her child in peace. Clever move…" Chloe's voice lowered, laced with suspicion. "But something tells me that woman have been cooking up more than just lullabies."
